Pig&Dan's story began in 1999 on a flight to Mallorca. Dan, then a resident DJ at Ministry of Sound, and Igor, involved in underground raves and producing music as Tropic 39, crossed paths. Both had already spent years immersed in music.

Dan's early exposure to influential musicians was significant. His father, a saxophonist and founder of the 70s group The Average White Band, worked with legends like Marvin Gaye and Chaka Khan. Dan's own career started in his late teens, working with artists such as The Cure and Vangelis. In 1990, Dan founded the group 'Intense,' which gained success with their album launch at Brixton Academy, leading to a global tour under Sony Japan.

Igor's journey began at 16 after experiencing Mallorca's nightlife. While studying in London, he devoted his money to growing his record collection and spent countless hours mixing. Igor frequented clubs like The Cross and Ministry of Sound, which influenced his move into electronic music and organizing raves in Mallorca.

The duo reconnected in 2001 through a mutual friend in Palma and discovered a strong synergy in the studio. Their demo 'Oh Yeah' was released by Cocoon, marking the start of Pig&Dan.

Since then, Pig&Dan have built a substantial discography with releases on labels like Soma, Plus8, Terminal M, Diynamic, Bedrock, and Drumcode. Their notable tracks include 'Growler' and 'Modular Baptism' on their label ELEVATE, and 'Mexico' and 'Chemistry' on Drumcode, which topped the Beatport charts.

Pig&Dan continue to release high-quality music, such as 'Reset Your Bassline' on Cocoon and 'Infinity' on Drumcode.

La Fleur is nothing short of a visionary, with every move impossible to ignore. Nearly 20 years since her first steps into the music space, the producer, DJ, and label head meticulously fuses house and techno with infectious melodies to evoke deep emotions. Her sonic palette carefully curates a story—lauded by names including Kerri Chandler, Sasha, Pete Tong, and Kenny Larkin—its narrative is one of genius.

From her early days balancing a job as a pharmacist by day with playing records by night, before launching her revered label Power Plant merely three years later upon a move to Berlin, La Fleur’s discography has blossomed from strength to strength. Her Power Plant debut release ‘Flowerhead’ received an electric reception from the underground sphere and remains respected in 2023, with further releases on revered labels including Kompakt and Cocoon. With a residency and valued relationship with Watergate Berlin, her remixing Kerri Chandler and Sasha (including a hit 2018 collaboration with the latter on ‘Förbindelse’), remixes by Carl Craig and Kenny Larkin, plus numerous high-profile party and festival appearances, La Fleur now turns to an evolution in her craft.

By pouring energy into simply embracing the creative process—discovering new outlets, taking singing lessons, and freely enjoying herself without pressure, inspired by a move back to her homeland of Sweden from Berlin—the musician looks to the future with the upcoming album ‘Väsen’, out Autumn 2024. Firmly rooted in her intention to bring listeners on a journey with her intrinsic self, the Swedish word models not only an entity, but also an essence. With associated meanings embodying the natural world, strength, and noise, the forthcoming body of work is truly reflective of the self, down to the most minute details.

Looking back, La Fleur’s success feels somewhat inevitable. Valuing creativity and connecting with oneself has fueled Sanna Engdahl since childhood, spending her weekends exploring her rural surroundings and taking lessons in ballet, flute, and piano. Perhaps her future as a DJ was cemented at a similar age, having taken a penchant for recording tapes for her friends and always pushing them to listen to music which, in Sanna’s own words, she defined as “amazing”—all while simultaneously studying for a Master’s degree in pharmaceutical science.

Today, she is an esteemed name across DJ circles, honouring her younger self by sharing music which she loves the most with others. This time though, La Fleur does so on an international scale. She most recently played the iconic Sonar By Night festival and has numerous accolades including Awakenings Festival, Tomorrowland, Life Festival, Creamfields, and Warung. She has also played iconic institutions including Ibiza’s superclubs, Printworks London, Motion Bristol, and of course, Watergate Berlin.

Truly a trailblazer of the underground in the present day, La Fleur’s electronic artistry is something to behold. Her ascent shows no signs of deceleration, with the producer, DJ, and label head’s beautiful sonic concoction creating the perfect storm for dance floors young and old.

This mix was recorded on the fly with just an idea of how I wanted to start and where i wanted to go on the musical journey.

So happy to release my set from Electric Island 2024 with you all.  What a day!  This was definitely one of my favourite Electric Islands.  Our community created some real magic at 2nd stage and I am so grateful to all of you who made it so special. What a vibe!!! Huge thanks to the organizers for having me once again, including Coda Toronto, Platform Entertainment, Embrace Presents and the whole EI crew. 

The set is filled with deep driving synths and dark melodic basslines, sprinkled with some uplifting melodies and vocals, and some of my unreleased tracks including: The Situation and Control.
