Our 19th episode welcomes @sarkis_mikael, a music producer and DJ who creates eclectic electronic music. The Los Angeles based artist has taken crowds from Los Angeles to Dubai on journeys of physical abandon and inner discovery via his therapeutic, globally-influenced rhythms and melodies.  

Sarkis’ releases on The Soundgarden, Sol Selectas, Hoomidaas and other labels of note touch dance music’s subterranean reaches, drawing out the listener’s emotional core through organic instrumentation and synthetic exploration.

Hey Timujin, great to speak to you and hope you had a lovely Xmas and New Year with your family :) 

Where did you spend the holidays?

I went to Nambia with family and friends over the holidays, it was a very lovely time to be together of course

We’ve been a big fan of yours for a while, and a huge fan of your Earthly Delights and trueColors labels. When signing a track, what is it in particular you look for that makes you think this is going to be a hit?

We dont think about hits, it's not our objective to select them, we are collaborating and helping artists that we believe in. They do their best in expressing themselves, we produce and promote their talent. 

And where do you go to when you’re looking for inspiration for one of your productions?

Producing music is a very intimate process for me, so everything that I go through is helping me to create music I believe. 

Can you tell us about the mix you’ve done for us today? Talk us through what you were thinking when you were doing it?

If you're familiar with my music, I like to create different storylines within my sets, this one I believe is 'Dark and Fun’.

And what exciting plans do you have currently for 2019? Any big goals you are aiming to achieve for the next year?

I’m working on my first album, and bringing a lot of good music through both our labels! A really exciting year ahead for sure :)

Hello friends! 
We started the summer season on the beautiful rooftop of Kleingarten, Istanbul. It was the grand opening of the year so it was very crowded and super fun to play!

This was our first hybrid set in a loooong time (since 2016 actually) and a challenging experience but in the end it was a rewarding one. We're grateful for everyone who got in the mood with us, danced, and shared joy! 

Many thanks to the original artists who inspired us to play guitar, synths and various samples on top of their wonderful craft. 
And of course thanks to the Klein and Kleingarten teams who made this happen in the best possible way!

2020 starten wir unsere Igelkarussell-Podcastserie mit niemand geringerem, als dem allseits beliebten Downtempokünstler éner. Das Rostocker Urgestein war letztes Jahr zu Gast bei unserer 🌀Bea(s)ts of the loony bin Vol. 6🌀… Wir schwelgen immer noch gern in Erinnerungen an diesen Abend, das war einfach eine magische Nacht - da sind sich alle Beteiligten sicher! Seitdem verbinden uns dieses tolle Erlebnis und wir stehen in regem Austausch miteinander. Als Projektleiter von Deep&smooth und als Teil der Faultierdisko-Crew, leistet er tolle Arbeit mit seinem Team. Die beiden Podcastschannels sind musikalisch ähnlich eingeordnet wie unser Igelkarussell, weshalb wir euch ans Herz legen, bei ihnen auf jeden Fall mal reinzuhören✌️
éner legt schon etliche Jahre auf, wobei er jedoch mit der Zeit immer mehr der Liebe zu Downbeat und Downtempo verfallen ist. Besonders runtergepitchte Housenummern sind ein Markenzeichen a lá éner - „Tracks eine komplett neue Identität zu verschaffen ist ein unglaublich tolles Gefühl“, wie er selbst sagt. Also hört genau hin, es gibt einiges zu entdecken…👂 
Sein zweistündiges Set klingt wie ein Liebesgedicht an entschleunigte elektronische Klänge. Mit eingebauten Spannungsbögen, derben Grooves und dem richtigen Händchen für Melodien verzaubert er die Zuhörer im Nu. Das ist wirklich eine ganz besonderes Musikerlebnis 😻 Vielen Dank für diese traumhafte Reise lieber éner 🧡

What a night it was at @tivitbilisi !!! It felt really good and refreshing to explore deeper & more melodic atmospheres. It was my first visit in Tbilisi and people were so receptive for my intimate and much more introspective set in relation to what I usually play. I hope my recorded set from that evening gives you similar feelings we all felt there!

For this Munich based duo music has always been a connection on a higher level that linked them just like invisible strings. At some point it became a logical decision to leave the dancefloor and to reach out for the decks. The producer and DJ collective Adelante was born.
The name Adelante originates from the term that is widely used in Spain and South America and paraphrases the order ahead! which is the subliminal credo of the boys.

Lines drawn between single genres like Deep-, Tech-, Afro-House or Techno are effortlessly trespassed within their productions and DJ sets as they often contain moving and percussive elements as well as melodic and deep ones.

Adelante is proud resident at the famous unmuted events that regularly take place at legendary Harry Klein Club, Munich. Their own, sometimes even unpublished, productions are frequently dropped during their shows - so you better do not miss out.

Après avoir organisé des soirées sur Nantes avec son collectif OP2N (open party tonight)
Aïkom (ex Akkufen) migre dans le nord de la France, digge ses premiers vinyls et intègre le collectif Electric Circus fondé par Matthus Raman. 
Il se produit alors au Magazine Club, au Moog, à l'Aéronef, lors de l'Overground Festival ou au Baby Boa à Genève, au Badaboum à Paris ou encore lors des Electric Circus Party à Lille..
Il s'est installé sur Nantes depuis l'été 2020.
Il s'est récemment produit pour le Festival Paco Tyson (édition online)
Les sets d'Aïkom évoluent sur une Minimale progressive aux accents deep et afro House, et s’adaptent également en Downtempo.  Il propose aussi selon ses envies et les lieux, les personnes des sets plus techno.
Ce qui l’amène à jouer aux cotés d'artistes tels que Molécule, Onyvaa, Melokolektiv, Hunter/Game, Ruede Hagelstein, My Favorite Robot, Peter Schumann (KaterBlau), Locked Groove, Gardens of God, Fur Coat, Terence Fixmer, Joris Delacroix et bien d’autres. 
Côté production, son 1er EP ''TAKE OFF'' est sorti en septembre 2018, sur le label ENLACE RECORDS, dont la structure chapeaute désormais son management et son booking.

Artist Info:
Madota is the musical lovechild of urban shepherds Behnam & Mehran. Iranian by birth, Canadian by upbringing, these two have come a long way from their own journeys before reuniting in Berlin.

What we know is that their deeply rooted love for electronic music led them to storm Vancouver's nightlife as DJs since 2011 which in turn prepared them to start their experimentation with making music that pulls influences from their hyphenated backgrounds. Their music captures their subtle lust for colorful and organic sounds coupled with their itch for darker forward-leaning grooves.

Their music has already taken them to perform numerous times in legendary gatherings such as Katerblau in Berlin, ZERO in NYC, Acidcase in Berlin and Woomoon in Ibiza. They continue to nurture their lovechild in Berlin with releases on labels such as Get Physical, Kindisch and Kiosk I.D.

Madota @ Melodic Therapy #094 - Germany

I just returned from the magical Bonjuk Bay. This place is something else. The nature, the people, the love. So much beauty. It felt like returning to the essence of life. 

There were many magical moments but this sunset set is something I will never forget. Standing in-between the palm trees, looking at all these beautiful people dancing, celebrating the last moments of sunshine before we fade into the night.

My heart is filled with gratitude.
