A studio-head in the true sense of the word, YokoO’s last 20 years have seen him master house music in all its deepest forms. With a prolific and impressive discography, YokoO has made his mark on noteworthy labels to date with original releases and a back-catalogue of strong remixes.

He’s turned the heads of many a label boss from Kollektiv Turmstrasse, Matthew Dekay, Lee Burridge, and MANDY, as well as racked up plays from a broad spectrum of industry reference artists. YokoO’s music has proven time and time again it can reach the record bags of the DJing elite on every continent.

His most notable projects Pachamama and Euneirophrenia anticipated the evolution behind the January ’21 release of his EP Jivanmuktih on Crosstown Rebels’ offshoot Rebellion. 2021 marked for YokoO the rebirth into a significant new chapter of his career as a producer, with a matured musical intuition charged with seductive blends of eclectic, deep, minimal, and hypnotic house grooves.

Like a mantra vibrating beat by beat, his music abides only to his deepest meditative intuition and revolves around the creation of unbound free-flowing states of creativity, echoing in stillness a deep connection to nature where every subtle detail counts for rich artistic expression and depth.

“I am committed to the Truth.” With these words, YokoO explains how he draws inspiration from his Yoga practice and the Yamas as he channels his creative energy into his label SATYA, a project that signifies the maturing into a state of unbridled surrender to the craft. With SATYA, he intends to support and represent artists who embrace creativity as a non-compromising act devoid of any expectation.

His constant evolution as a human being plays hand in hand with the authenticity of his creative process, committed to releasing unpredictable sounds that never fail to communicate, connect, and move.

Between gigs, you’ll find YokoO producing in his home-built studio in Lisbon or saluting the sun somewhere in Mexico.

Despite originally hailing from New York, Serge Devant has recently locked in close ties with one of London's own key music outposts Crosstown Rebels, falling in with the iconic warm and deep house aesthetic Damien Lazarus's iconic imprint when he made his first release this year with his Always On My Mind EP. The release was part of something of a comeback for the producer after being forced to take a year out from music in recovery following a devastating snow boarding accident. This became a time of reflection and development of his sound where he began working under groove informed direction, which also has been snapped up by Lee Foss and Jamie Jones' Emerald City music and Crosstown sub label Rebellion and is clearly already proving to be a positive upturn in his career.

More releases can be expected from Devant on Crosstown later this year, plus he's heading to EC1 for the first time this Saturday night. So, to properly demonstrate this fresh direction and what can be expected from his debut, he's put together this exclusive promo mix...

Something that once seemed like a distant dream,  seven years ago during my first Burning Man, actually became a reality for me three years ago when I played the Robot Heart bus for the first time. I was beyond happy to make my way back for their 10 year anniversary this past summer. 

I have been greatly inspired through so many special dusty mornings at Robot heart, and have made countless friends and unforgettable memories over the years.

I owe a lot to my changing the style and direction of my music to my first Burning Man and me experiencing Robot heart there. I am forever thankful for their existence and hope they will live on for many more years to come! Happy 10th anniversary :)
