Scores, needle drops and iconic moments from the filmography of Brian De Palma - once a star of the New Hollywood movement of the 60s and 70s, De Palma famously admitted he wished to become the "American Godard". His style is broad, and allusive to his cinematic heroes – Godard, Hitchcock, Antonioni – creating cult classic and popcorn blockbusters alike, with the patchy critical reception that only a fiercely independent creative spirit could earn.
