Curses is the late-night moniker of renowned producer Luca Venezia. Infusing dark House & Techno influences with ambient and cinematic soundscapes, Curses makes music that works in all settings and transcends genres.

Residing in the moonlit depths of New York City, Curses returned to the spotlight in the Summer of 2013 with breakout single ‘So Good’ released on Marble Recordings. Heavily supported on radio, online and in the club, it helped establish Curses’ reputation as a rising name in the scene. By spring 2014 Curses was in demand. With a residency at Brooklyn’s Verboten nightclub and back to back EP’s on two of New York’s finest underground House and Techno labels – Throne Of Blood & Let’s Play House – Curses was armed with the perfect tools to take on the road for a busy summer of festival and club shows. Support online from the likes Resident Advisor & XLR8R was matched in the clubs with everyone from Heidi to Digweed to Skream supporting the tracks in their sets.

As a response to the burgeoning After-hours House and Techno scene that was blossoming in his home town, Venezia created the late-night focused label Safer At Night with fellow Gotham producers, Total Fitness and Cranks. The label has already set a strong start with releases already by Walker & Royce, J Phlip, Chris Lorenzo and Eli Escobar to name a few. With a slew of new productions locked and ready to be released, 2015 looks set to be another exciting year for Curses.

Summer continues, bringing us the hottest days and shortest nights. To make the most of this solar energy and extend the fun, we have decided to release a new episode of our Texture Mixture series.

To launch this collaborative EP, we are pleased to welcome Alicia Hahn to the label with a track full of radiance and electricity. 'Broken Synths' fits perfectly with the label's DNA and opens this new collection with all the ingredients needed to get us moving on the dance floor till the end of the night.

To see us through to the early hours, your host shares a track with an old friend. 'Mc Mateo', a heady tune that blends swaying rhythms and satisfying sound waves. Here, Remcord and Roze explore the depths of their solid friendship through music. They dedicate this track to their fellow jammer, the non famous Mc Mateo. 
ps : no vocal on this track , the Mc was just standing on the sofa, chilling and rolling. 

What could be more fitting to close this new chapter than the delicate touch of Raphael Piacentino? Having previously appeared with his brother on Texture Mixture 02, he now returns solo with another melodic, bewitching and personal dub track. In short 'ammE' brings this 23rd opus to a close in the most beautiful way.

As usual, all tracks was processed with a lot of love and some of those with a bit of grass.
