We have an honoured guest in our midst for mix #110. He is a longstanding and respected figure in Amsterdam's club life, has a fixed spot in club Trouw and recently set up his own record label, SoHaSo (Something Happening Somewhere), which is making waves with some particularly well-received first releases. His name is Nuno Dos Santos and this guy is serious when it comes to producing, playing and releasing fresh music.

Alongside his trademark sound, Till von Sein exudes an aura of noble grandeur mixed with the genuine enthusiasm of a child with a favourite toy when he’s busy in the DJ booth. But Tilly’s toy, which in this case is house and its countless derivatives, won’t ever end up forgotten in the corner. Long after the wrapping paper has been thrown away, what Till loves has yet to lose its magic. For von Sein, the sound of an 808 clap triggers a state of ecstasy, which in his hands emerges as pure euphoria on the dance floor. Time and again, his thumping transitions and heart-racing sets send listeners into overdrive, revealing the very core of house, soul and techno, while hitting on just what makes these genres so exciting.

Despite his intimate knowledge of the industry, which might allow him to slip easily into a been- there-done-that attitude, Till von Sein shows non-stop enthusiasm. For the last ten years, he has run the internationally active Clique Bookings at the side of Claudia Marquardt. More recently, his work as a producer has grown to encompass a vast catalogue of releases on labels such as Suol, Dirt Crew and Supplement Facts. He has collaborated with artists such as Tigerskin, Aera, Chopstick and Catz’n’Dogz, and his DJ work has long been a fixture in the international club scene. 

After his 2011 solo album “#LTD” (Suol), von Sein enjoyed a fully booked calendar and successful tour through South Africa, Japan, USA and Europe. He continues to ride a wave of success. In 2013, he released his personal contribution to the Suol Mates mix series as well as a series of new EPs. A line of output that culminated in the 2015 release of “Precious”, his second solo-album for Suol. Upcoming projects for the nearer future include a joint venture with producer and friend Tigerskin.

Jacques Renault c’est un trublion. Élevé au post punk à Washington DC, il part vivre à Chicago en 1997 et tombe amoureux de la dance music. Prenant rapidement ses marques il intègre le label Gramophone Records et lance sa première résidence au Smart Bar. Quelques années plus tard, il poursuit sa route jusqu'à New York et trouve son bonheur dans la house et la disco. Il devient alors une figure emblématique de NY avec des résidences aux York Happy Endings, APT, Tribeca Grand, 205 Club et tourne dans le monde entier.

La suite vous la connaissez bien : il signe sur DFA RECORDS, I’m A Cliché, Italians Do It Better, Future Classic, Rekids…et crée son label On the Prowl avec Marcos Cabral avec qui il produit sous le nom Runaway puis, c'est le début de l'aventure LET'S PLAY HOUSE avec Nik Mercer. Consistant tout d’abord en des soirées itinérantes, d’un entrepôt à Brooklyn aux Salons d’hôtel à Manhattan Jacques et Nik ne manquent pas d’imagination. Face aux succès de ces soirées, ils décident de lancer le label que l’on connait aujourd’hui. Ses sets sont toujours à l'image de son aura : riches, navigants entre des classiques disco, du groove house et même une pointe de techno puissante et lancinante.

Après 6 ans d’absence, il est enfin de retour à Montréal ce vendredi au Bleury Bar À Vinyle. En attendant, il nous a fait l'immense plaisir d'être l'invité de notre série MIXED BY.

Das Konzept der Sponsoren- und Werbefreiheit wollen wir uns erhalten – und mit eurer Unterstützung wird uns das auch gelingen. 

Nach dem riesigen Teilnehmeransturm haben wir uns zusammengesetzt und über eine Fortführung geredet. Tatendrang und die pure Überzeugung, das Richtige zu tun, reichten zwar für 2015. Um den Zug der Liebe auch 2016 realisieren zu können, bitten wir euch daher um Hilfe.

Ziel der Demonstration ist es, ein positives Zeichen für mehr soziales Engagement, Mitgefühl und Nächstenliebe zu setzen. Die Themen werden durch gemeinnützige Vereine und soziale Einrichtungen mittels Rednern und Schirmherrschaften der Wagen vertreten.

Der Zug der Liebe entwickelt sich dank euch und lebt vom Einsatz jedes Einzelnen. Erneut möchten wir zeigen, was Menschen, die an Nächstenliebe glauben, gemeinsam erreichen können.

Zentrales Anliegen der Demonstration ist der Protest für mehr soziales Engagement, Mitgefühl und Nächstenliebe.

In Zusammenhang mit dem zentralen Anliegen, für mehr soziales Engagement, setzt sich die Demonstration insbesondere für folgende Kernbotschaften ein:

FÜR eine menschliche Lösung der europaweiten Flüchtlingsproblematik

FÜR ein tolerantes Zusammenleben ohne Rassismus und Extremismus

FÜR ein tolerantes Zusammenleben ohne Ausgrenzung und Diskriminierung
