Yulia Niko Releases Body Language Vol. 26 on Get Physical.

For those who follow the ever-shifting contours of underground electronic music, few names resonate with as much assured vision as Yulia Niko. Having methodically teased the soundscape of her forthcoming compilation over the past months, she now unveils ‘Body Language Vol. 26’, a record that stands as both a statement of intent and an act of refined curation. Out now via Get Physical Music, the compilation maps an evolving terrain where emotion, texture and rhythm converge with an elegant restraint rarely achieved in club music today.

Launched in 2005 by Berlin-based label Get Physical Music, the Body Language series has become one of dance music's most essential and enduring mix compilation series. Each edition serves as a curated journey, blending exclusive tracks and remixes that push the boundaries of house and techno. With contributions from luminaries like Booka Shade, WhoMadeWho and andhim, the series has consistently showcased a commitment to innovation and musical depth, influencing both DJs and listeners worldwide. Now, with Vol. 26, Yulia Niko continues this tradition, offering a fresh perspective while honoring the series' rich legacy.

The project unfolds over eleven tracks, as she unveils a deftly balanced selection that plays like a nuanced narrative. It moves from the effervescent, sun-warmed piano house of ‘So In Love With You’, through to the nocturnal depths of ‘Bad Habits’ – a reverent yet freshly dark reimagination of Jenny Burton’s ’85 anthem, co-produced with Alfonso Muchacho – before arriving at the skeletal, hypnotic minimalism of ‘Just Just’; a deft reworking of a Rework classic.

Central to the compilation’s identity is the never-before-heard ‘Takina’, a collaboration with Alexey Union and Kinky Sound that crystallizes the collection’s ethos. Here, the trio build a layered soundscape that is at once muscular and atmospheric, weaving taut grooves with shimmering melodic detail and careful injections of ethnic instrumentation that add an organic, textured edge. ‘Takina’ is a moment of clarity - a track where the dancefloor’s kinetic energy is distilled through a lens of emotional depth and technical sophistication. It is a track that doesn’t shout but commands attention, embodying the subtle power that runs throughout the compilation.

Elsewhere, the album serves as a showcase for Yulia’s dexterity as both producer and remixer, taking on material from the likes of Helsloot, Calussa & Malone and Chelonis R. Jones, reshaping them with a meticulous ear and an intimate understanding of space and tension. Each piece is threaded together by Yulia’s unmistakable touch: a sensibility that privileges emotional resonance and groove over bombast, crafting music that feels timeless yet vividly of the moment.

Based across Berlin and Ibiza, Yulia Niko has established herself as a vital voice in modern house and techno. Sturge brings you his latest masterpiece, Wanted To Fly, fresh from his Ibiza studio. Released by Musique de Lune on 3rd October, Wanted To Fly features two very special remixes by acclaimed producers Jim Rider and Joe Miller.

DJ, live artist, and producer Sturge, originally from Belfast, is now based in Ibiza after spending over a decade in London. He has been DJing and promoting electronic music parties across Europe and beyond for many years, from Belfast to Burning Man, and London to Berlin. As one of the curators for the Celtic Chaos stage at the Burn, he takes equal pride in his curation as much as in his DJ sets. 

Sturge’s first mainstream release was What Were The Skies Like When You Were Young, on Musique de Lune in summer 2024. This stunning 5-track EP, featuring the lead track and four remixes, went straight into the Beatport Top 10.

Press play on Wanted To Fly and you are instantly taken to a crisp, clear soundscape high in the sky. The bassline captures your imagination straight away, like a warm valve glowing against the metronomic kick beat. The scale here is cinematic, the space between the notes as important as the notes themselves. From here, Sturge builds the intensity, huge synth raptors cry overhead as you climb into a stratosphere where electric and organic sounds blur into one, layers of subtle synth adding to the already palpable atmosphere. And then the first lyric. “I just wanted to fly.’ Just beautiful stuff.
 
The remix from Jim Rider (All Day I Dream, Get Physical…) is sensational. Liquid agogos adding the perfect percussion and vocal fx to take you from up into the clouds to a dark, smoke machine filled dancefloor. It stays true to Sturge’s original mix, adding without subtracting. The synth riff is something quite special on its own.
 
Joe Miller (Anjunadeep, All Day I Dream…) takes you on a flight with some beautiful and unexpected detours, off-beat drum patterns and trippy, strobe fuelled arpeggiation blisses you out. Glitchy break beats and waves of electronic euphoria leave you smiling in the chill-out area. If Wanted To Fly was the main theme from a movie, these three thoughtful and skilled maestros show how one perfect piece of inspiration can evoke multiple emotions.

Lydmor - Helium High 

Lydmor (@lydmor) is maybe one of the most exciting and shimmering young musician, singer and songwriter on the nu pop circuit and is finally to release a brand new single ‘Helium High’.

Most recently she formed the duo Lydmor & Bon Homme together with Whomadewho’s Tomas Høffding and released the album ‘Seven Dreams Of Fire’ (hfn music). In addition to it Lydmor already released two solo albums, the lates being ‘Y’ (Sony).

Lydmor aka Jenny Rossander is also a brilliant live performer as proven at the explosive shows with Lydmor & Bon Homme, but also on several solo-tours around the world. She played for example in New York, Mexico City, Milan, London, Hamburg, Tokyo and Shanghai and has recently shown a special interest in Asia where she has been part of a tour and resided for a while.

Lydmor has an outstanding empathy and feeling that can be experienced in everything she’s involved in and on the new single she unfolds in a way we have not heard her before.

“‘Helium High’ is about something I have not written so much about before. It’s about being a woman. I need to show a version of femininity that we rarely see. The female anger and the female authority are deeply under-represented in modern society and therefore it may be obvious to forget what it looks like. It is much easier for a heterosexual man to “demand respect” than for women or other sexualities. But I think we internationally see that this is changing. And we are angry. And we take control.“

Lydmor recorded and produced ‘Helium High’ with the Copenhagen based production trio ‘Methena’ and is going to perform it live in January at the Eurosonic Festival 2018.

It’s more than exciting to have the outsider pop band ticktock (@ticktockgoestheclock) back on the block. Sebastian Zieler, Jacob Koefoed, and Jens Skovgaard have a knack for making emotive, inventive, and detail-oriented music. A Violence of Innocence is a four-track EP that revels in the band’s love for creating sublime moments from disparate angles. It’s a postmodern mesh of genres with songs that warp and mutate from start to finish.

Thematically, the four tracks deal with disappointment, hope, love, curiosity, and sex. But the red thread is a deep-rooted wish to uplift, no matter the subject matter:

“For a while now, we’ve thought about positivity in music being a bit of a holy grail. We failed on this EP, really - life got in the way, and a break-up and stress has had to be dealt with in song form. But we’ve tried not to off-load feelings on the listener, and instead to let them go full circle - to have each song provide a solution to the problem it presents.” says frontman Sebastian Zieler.

To this end, the band has tried to sneak an uplifting element in through the backdoor - to load the music with the intention to uplift. Good friends in good moods have been enlisted on several tracks: a drunk, middle- of-the-night jam between friends provides the backbone for the outro of the title track, and the EP’s choir parts were recorded by a veritable who’s who of the Danish underground, with everyone in the room being in on the idea: “We tried to play with an open hand, and to tell everyone what our intention was. Each element - from lyrics, to arrangement, and to mix - has been loaded this way.”

It’s audible in how each track morphs along the way: The soulful outro of the title track, the ride-into-the-sunset chorus of Pregnant, the cataclysmic beauty that replaces the synthetic grit of Hatefuck, and the climatic joy of Come Anywhere. It’s a tangible feeling throughout, and a welcome one in times with stress, anxiety, and depression as the psychological pandemics.

"Humanity", the new original song from Barcelona-based artist Brunetto (featuring Bearoid vocals) mixes electronica, cinematic and futuristic sounds in a soulful pop ballad. There are glimpses of innovative rhythms and his trademark deep, expansive, intricate atmospherical sound. 

The original track is due to be released next March-2nd alongside a full EP, there are a host of incredible remixes which bring the sounds of Brunetto that little closer to the dancefloor. Affkt (Sincopat's imprint owner), Fernando Lagreca & the swiss Marco Biagini aka Kellerkind, all of them bringing their unique sounds and production genius to the table taking their remixes in a range of new directions.

Freelastica is managed by Bruno Garca (Brunetto/BlandiBru). Since the late 90s one of the most outstanding electronic musician in Spain with 3 albums and a bunch of single releases and remixes. Not to mention his musical works for TV, Documentariers, Ads, Audiobooks, Music libraries, etc. As music journalist Bruno contributes (or contributed) since 2008 with some of the most important media in Spain such as Clubbingspain, Go!Mag, Clone, La Milk, Beatburguer, MedMag or Denso Mag.

Well known and well regarded also in the PR services thanks to his effective campaigns dealing always closely and directly with directors, editors, bloggers and journalists. In 2006 Bruno began working in Decoder Muzique, later Phonomonkey. Actively for music labels such as BPitch Control, Kompakt, Hyperdub, Tectonic, Music Man, We Are Punks, Datapunk, HFN, Poker Flat, Echochord, Fullpupp, etc.

To name a few albums promoted: Trentemoller ”The Last Resort”, Modeselektor “Happy Birthday”, Burial “Untrue”,  Telefon Tel Aviv “Immolate Yourself”, Supermayer “Save the World”, Petar Dundov “Escapements”, Ellen Alien “Sool”, Detroit Grand Pubahs “Nuttin But Funk”, Pulshar “Brotherhood”, etc. Also Misch Marsch, I Love Techno, Fuse presents…, Boogie Bytes series have passed by his hands during this period.
