Radio Slave pays homage to Funboy Three with ‘The Lunatics (A Tribute to Terry Hall)’. 

Fun Boy Three’s groundbreaking 1981 anthem ‘The Lunatics Have Taken Over The Asylum’ reflected a socio-political uncertainty and fear of the time, mirroring today’s calamitous society.

Radio Slave’s tribute to the late vocalist of The Specials and Fun Boy Three, Terry Hall, ‘The Lunatics (A Tribute To Terry Hall)’ centres itself on the unmistakable haunting vocal chant of its source material. Welded to the sort of unbreakable groove that Radio Slave has spent two decades refining, the vocal swells, repeating chorus, and jolting alarm sounds make for yet another anthem from one of dance music’s most bankable names.

Rounding out the release, Radio Slave strips the single of its iconic vocal for the ‘A Clinic Full Of Cynics’ dub. In this version, he lets its infectious guitar strum bass roar and added jazz-inflected musical elements shine in a pure and true tribute to ska music told by the Rekids founder.

Back on Stil vor Talent after contributing a banging remix to Oliver Koletzki and Fritz Kalbrenner's 'Heart on Hold' a few months ago, Bulgarian producer Pavel Petrov turns in his debut solo transmission for us, 'Parallel'. Comprised of two cuts that give full vent to his epic-sized vision and monumental buildups, Petrov's newest bridges the gap between frontal sonic assault and a sensorially effervescing sound design. As cascades of pumped up Italo arpeggios and languid pads mingle in a cosmic symphony of sorts, 'Parallel' opens up a portal to some unknown clubbing dimension, where a brooding, near-dystopian atmosphere crosses swords with hypermodern EBM brutalism and grime-informed vox sampling. A further straightforward, acid-oriented roller, the second track 'C0smica' has us nodding our heads to a crisp deluge of liquid bass and neon-splattered electro vibrancy, ready to take on any dance floor with its inch-perfect combo of retro-laced imagery and sci-fi-indebted kinetics. True to his poised and ambitious DJ-friendly approach, Petrov delivers a duo of fearless club heaters that'll leave wisps of vapour in their wake.
