An artist who celebrates life and dancing within his organic and propulsive compositions, ‘Tyre’ displays Mike Steva’s own distinct style within two dense and rich productions.

Leading the release, the ‘Tyre’ combines unique sample sources with trippy vocal chops, noisy synth work, and a deep, pulsating low end. ‘Tribal Salute’ follows, bringing skippy percussions, engaging instrumentation and sweeping pads together for a moving B-side to round out the release.

Mona Yim debuts on Rekids with ‘Gotta Do This, Gurl’, featuring remixes from Radio Slave.

Born and raised between Singapore and Germany and now based in Berlin, Mona Yim spent time bouncing between the clubs of London, Berlin, and Paris while honing her craft, culminating in a recent remix for DJ Seinfeld’s ‘Tell Me One More Time’ on Ninja Tune. Now readying her debut solo release on Rekids, Mona Yim delivers two dreamy house cuts for the imprint, backed with a pair of remixes from label-boss Radio Slave.

Leading the release, ‘Gotta Do This, Gurl’ brings crispy, bouncing drums alongside moody pads and subtle vocal chops, building up to an emotive breakdown. Radio Slave beefs up the drum patterns with breakbeats for his remix, adding additional atmospheric FX to existing melodic elements for a chunky, driving track. 

‘Dots Obsession’ sees floaty percussion, gentle synth work and vocals working in tandem to craft a soft yet evocative house jam. Injecting a pumping 4/4 pattern alongside elements of the original, Radio Slave’s interpretation brings the energy levels up with pitch-perfect dub FX and swirling synthesis.

Bedouin enlist Filippos for ‘After Why’ on Human By Default this September.

Based in Thessaloniki, Greece, Filippos has already made an impact in the scene with productions on labels such as Connected and Madorasindahouse. Now readying his first appearance on Bedouin’s Human By Default label, the artist delivers his latest work, offering up two of his slickest productions to date.

Leading the release is ‘After Why’, featuring vocals from Dimp, with the track twisting and turning through powerful passages of modulating synths, reverberated vocals, and sizzling percussion. The accompanying track, ‘Still Life’, marries pounding kicks and wonky instrumentation for an evolving and emotive earworm.

“The purpose of ‘After Why’ is to speak directly to the listener, contemporary sounds and weird drums make it unique and difficult to avoid listening to it. The mysterious ‘Still Life’ uses a rhythm that can’t get out of your head.” - Filippos.

Filippos returns to Human By Default for a sublime pair of subversive house sounds.

Greek trailblazer Filippos has released his stylish sounds on this label in the form of previous tracks like 'After Why'. His music aims to speak directly to listeners, and he mixes up odd sounds and unique drum designs with plenty of contemporary style, all with plenty of fresh melodies.

The opener 'Stray Man' has a taught and tight bass loop that props up the thunderous claps as tender vocal whispers bring the soul. Urgent synths up the edginess of the groove and ensure the dance ﬂoor will remain ﬁrmly on its toes. Then comes 'Places & Faces', another moody house cut with dark energy and snappy, militant snares. Balmy pads swirl up top, and angelic vocals at the breakdown mean this is another captivating and standout track.

'Run With Me' is a stripped-back sound with smoky pads and organic percussion drawing you in deep as Blindsmyth’s hushed vocals add alluring intimacy next to trippy synths rising up and down the scale. 'Dream Sequence' sees Made By Pete go solo, delivering a sweeping House groove with shimmering synths that bring celestial energy to the shuffling drums. It's a widescreen and immersive sound high on emotion with a thoughtful lead synth sequence that will send you to dreamland.

Their first full voyage of the year, ‘Ark’ is a stately piece of techno noir theatre designed to wrestle the choppiest of dancefloor seas. A multi-layered narrative laced with crispy arpeggios and strange otherworldly talkbox textures, it’s an oceanic titan that ploughs through the heaviest of elements with grace and majesty.

‘Doppt’ takes us to the next waymark on the map. Gently rhythmic from the moment its first shakers kiss your ears, we’re soon satiated with tightly plucked percussive elements, subtle humanised textures and a sense of momentum that’s tightly coiled with suspense and drama in a way that only Super Flu know how.

Finally our feet touch terra firma with the mysterious afro house maverick Hyenah as he provides an earthy remix stampede. Flexing between African rhythms, powerful 4/4s and a tantalising breakdown salvo, it’s yet another sterling revision from the masked beast… And another exceptional Monaberry trip from the one and only Super Flu.
