After an impressive piece by Croatian producer Time To Sleep, it's YAME to follow the steps, musically as well as verbally, because after Lungo Mare comes To The Sea. The artist duo YAME, consisting of Alexandr Seletsky and Victor Kiriyakidi, delivers a track that brims with musical finesse and  edginess as if their inspirations Yello and Kraftwerk shook hands and added a driving raw bass line.  To the Sea has it all an Indie vibe, a disco-ish tone and foremost a catchy synth-line, which is added   edited and unedited vocals that underline either one of the aforementioned features and continue the impressive selection of music the label releases.

connected jump-start summer with a fantastic collection of remixes of Marius Maier, aka Re.You's excellent ‘Maison’ album from May this year. Top contemporary artists who are all close personal DJ friends of Marius all feature to add their own slant and style, including his brother Santé, plus Rodriguez Jr., Anja Schneider, Floyd Lavine, Kadosh and plenty more.
Up first, Cologne natives and underground mainstays AndHim flip 'Inyani' ft.Oluhle & Aaaron into a steamy tribal house cut with worldly vocal wails and withering synths that make you want to wiggle. Chief Mobilee artist Rodriguez Jr. then goes for a cosmic minded rework of Relocate ft. Stereo MCs that has subtle but epic breakdowns and frazzled bass building the mood.
Topango then takes 'Inyani' and sensitively rebuilds it as a spine-tingling vocal cut with a spiritual atmosphere that is truly unique, and Innervisions and Watergate's deep and melodic house maestro Kadosh shows off his superb skills on his steamy and mysterious remix of 'Soft.' Next up, new school Berlin tastemaker Santé remixes 'Relocate' ft. Stereo Mc's into a chunky, stripped-back house groove for cosy basement spaces and South African house hero Floyd Lavine returns to his home label with another vital remix that takes on an elegant and afro tinged trip into stunning house territory. German duo and MoBlack associates Cosmo & Kramer then close out with a ragged, electro-tinged version of Strings Of Joy ft. Florian Busse & Ahmad that will make the club sweat.
These are fantastic new reinterpretations of the excellent source material and all add up to a high-class treasure trove for DJs and dancers alike.

Djuma Soundsystem and Jonas Saalbach collaborated in the famous Berliner Funkhaus together with British vocalist Chris McCarthy.
‘Hunting Ground’ is a triolitized electronic beat, that gave birth to deep and trippy 80's inspired synthesizers.
This is more than just the sum of of the three different creative spirits, as “Hunting ground" took on a whole new unique expression on its own.

After two standout releases on this label already with Aaaron, Deckert now gets  around to his own solo release on the mighty connected. This debut solo EP by Deckert is named after the iconic first stage of the first ever Super Mario Bros, which originally originated in the 80s, just like the producer himself. He is a
German artist whose early tunes made a big mark and he is now part of the Berlin underground thanks to his unique take on contemporary house music.

The fantastic title track sets the pace with raw drum patterns and sawing bass hits, which are interrupted by two bold climatic twists. 'Sakura Dust' is another fresh offering that continues Deckert's deep obsession with Japanese pop culture by relying heavily on the
sample of a Koto, a traditional far eastern string instrument, which fulfils its harmonic arc over the whole length of this ambitious and emotional sonic tale.

First up to remix is Italian-Swiss composer Parsifal, a well-known face who runs his own Kinesen label. His interpretation of '1-1' adds new layers of melody and breadth to the minimalist approach of the original track and tells a story of its own. Finally, Everything
Counts aka Teodora "Toshka" from Bulgaria and Chris Leon take 'Sakura Dust' on a melancholic ride by intensifying the East Asian foundation to its core. These are more cultural club tunes from the fantastic connected.

Having released the acclaimed Be Mine on Crosstown Rebels in 2017, Berlin-based Siopis lands on Rebellion with Unconditional, a poignant two-tracker that features the vocals of esteemed DnB lyricist, MC Coppa.

“An interview with Lauryn Hill inspired me to make this release. It blew me away and I felt it straight in my heart, so I wanted to share the deep message that comes from it. I put her vocals into the break of the lead track, and Unconditional was born.” Siopis.

Beginning with the ethereal sounds of Unconditional, the lead track is a journey into electronic music’s spiritual realm, as supple keys vibrate alongside a gently moving bassline. A sample from Lauryn Hill’s iconic speech acts as the breakdown, before the emotive bassline comes back in to pull deeply on our heartstrings. Kaleidoscope feat. MC Coppa completes the release. Bubbling with subtle hats and dreamy pads, the moving cut takes on a tougher edge with MC Coppa’s stirring monologue, whilst Siopis’ flagship club ready sound features right the way through to form a track that sounds perfect at home, and on the dancefloor.

A prolific producer, Siopis has been carving out a career in electronic music for more than a decade. Previously known under his Silversurfer moniker, he is responsible for some of Crosstown Rebels’ earliest releases, producing 2004’s Parisis and collaborating with Kiki on the seminal Shake Off that same year. Fast-forward to more recent times where continued releases on Damian Lazarus’ Crosstown Rebels and M.A.N.D.Y’s Get Physical Music have helped define his emotional, dance-oriented sound, whilst frequent performances at clubbing institutions such as Hoppetosse and Golden Gate have established him as a regular on the Berlin circuit. 
With international sets under his belt at the likes of Miami’s Ocean’s Ten and Mexico’s Americana Club Social, the future continues to shine bright for Siopis.
