Steyoyoke’s latest EP features smooth vocals by Canadian artist Terry Grant, including two originals by Soul Button, one by Soul Button and Aaryon, and a remix by Animal Picnic, forming a tear-jerking release. This ethereal techno blends moving melodies with dark lows and piercing highs.

‘Wraith’, by Soul Button, showcases distorted synths and Terry Grant’s reassuring vocals, adding warmth and identity. Soul Button’s technical finesse and Grant’s homely voice make this track a dreamy highlight.

‘Demise’, a tragically sweet track, pairs Terry Grant’s dark lyrics with his calm voice. The sharp kick and haunting chord progression evoke a lost love visiting in dreams, creating chills even on a sweaty dance floor.

Soul Button and Aaryon’s ‘Substratum’ merges their styles seamlessly. Chiming synths, groovy rides, and shakers craft a rhythm that transports you to another universe.

Animal Picnic’s remix of ‘Wraith’ adds an upbeat twist, stretching Terry Grant’s vocals for a nostalgic effect. Jungle-like drums and synths give the remix a wild energy.

For "People" I tried to fuse a more ambient sound with that of Nu Disco and House. It was also an attempt to create something that could be listened to like a story, where the chord progression changes throughout the song.

Tone Depth already released a series of great and unique productions in 2018. When he sent this new track as a demo for fryhide originally, HOSH was completely blown away by it and couldn´t wait to play it out. On the plane, on the way to play a very important gig for him, he listened to the track while preparing and all of a sudden it made click and out of nowhere HOSH heard the „I Am Free” vocal from Johannes Brecht & Fetsum in his mind on top of the Tone Depth track. So he edited it right away, it became the highlight of his set and people started asking for it. A perfect match! After exchanging music with Solomun who fell in love with it as well he encouraged to release the „Free” version of the track on Diynamic with the vocal on top.

A chain of circumstances and everyone pulling together made this track possible and led to this very special version. Everyone involved is very emotionally attached to it, just as emotional as the track itself is.

"Same" the result of their one-day collaboration not only surprised the three instantly, also artists like Niconé, Matchy, Brascon and Mononoid could not escape the charm of this song and agreed to contribute remixes.

I remember fondly hearing David’s music for the first time. His beautiful haunting vocals and melodies instantly hooked me. I went down a rabbit hole through David’s gorgeous discography. 

His compositions are cinematic, stripped down, cohesive stories that touch our basic emotions. 

When I discovered ‘The World Retreats’ I knew I had to try and do my own club version. I bought the track and immediately started working on it. I was so inspired then that eventually the lead for ‘Her Perfect Sky’ came out of one of the first ideas for this remix.

Eventually I finished the first version and sent it to David on SoundCloud straight away. Without his permission I had taken the liberty to remix one of his own compositions and I was not sure how he would respond to that. 

Thankfully he did like the remix and we kept in touch ever since, that was in 2018.

In 2019 ‘The World Retreats’ is debuting on the highly praised Netflix show show ‘Dark’, David and I aimed to release this remix for free on SoundCloud as a way thank the audiences of both the music and the show and to share our stories with all of you. SoundCloud is where our first connection happened so it made sense for us to come full circle and give it away for free on this platform.
