Our heroes are back in the game with new artists whose sound suits Nazca Records like a glove. On the one hand, Los Suruba proudly presents @thomasgandey, an artist with international cult status, having released an abundance of electro futurism. On the other hand, @mia-mendi, a duo obsessed with uniting melancholic ambience, loaded drums and modulating melodic leads. 

These three artists are very similar to our Viracochas, beings of a different world that observe, admire and get inspired by the Nazca, lovers of art, beauty and nature. This time the Viracochas have also become creators. They bring their futuristic energy to summon resilience and progress through sound. Thomas Gandey & Mia Mendi have joined forces blessing the presence of The Viracochas by creating 'Paracas', a collaborating EP, which is a three-track record that makes you swing from the past to the future in electronic harmony.

It’s a great pleasure for me to announce Aaristos as new guest wizz, the Germany-based DJ with Greek roots, who is a true magician in blending the typically German ethereal electronic sounds with the peerless depths of Greek mysticism.  When listening to this set for the first time, my mind slowly drifted away to the Meteora region in North-West Greece, with its unique complex of ancient monasteries perched on top of giant rock formations (some of which tower 400 meters above the surrounding valley).  In the 9th century, the first ascetic hermits arrived in this area and settled on top of these boulders, living a life in solitary contemplation above the clouds and only meeting sporadically during their recurrent hermit get-togethers.  In the ensuing centuries, the hermits were replaced on the rocktops by orthodox monasteries, which could only be reached by wooden ladders or even ropes.  This was only for the brave as these ropes only got replaced ‘when the Lord decided so’.  At its peak, there were over 20 rock-top monasteries, of which 6 are still operational at this moment (4 for monks and 2 for nuns).  My inner hermit can’t wait to join one of these skyborne monasteries, but only after listening one more time to this set from Aaristos…

Booka Shade unite with emerging live act UNDERHER to deliver ‘Chemical Release’, dropping via Blaufield this March ahead of their 2019 Australia & NZ tour.
Booka Shade reveal “We fell in love with the sound of UNDERHER when we heard their remix of our song ‘Confessions’, and instantly knew we wanted a collaboration with them”. Following this remix last year, UNDERHER now return to Blaufield alongside the imprint bosses to unveil ‘Chemical Release’.
The resulting collaboration pairs UNDERHER’s trademark lyricism with Booka Shade’s high-quality production, in a driving ode to obsessively intense new relationships. It comes out in a package that includes an original and radio mix, plus remixes from each act - allowing both Booka Shade and UNDERHER to explore their own individual styles.
UNDERHER are a live electronic duo comprised of Tunisian-Canadian former DJ and tech enthusiast Kalden Bess & Italian-Canadian classically trained singer / songwriter Jessica Abruzzese. Their sensual take on deep electronica has landed them official remixes for the likes of Moby and U2, as well as gigs at respected venues including Stereo Montreal, Katerblau Berlin and Blue Marlin Dubai. They will be playing their debut headline London show at the Shacklewell Arms on the 6th March, just ahead of the collaboration’s release.
