Lee Van Dowski makes his debut on the mighty Crosstown Rebels with three delectably dark soundscapes in the Tale Of Ordinary Madness EP.

The talented producer delivered a stunning EP for Crosstown sub-label Rebellion back in 2015 and this follow up exceeds all expectations. The title track is based on a text from Charles Bukowski’s My Madness. Opening with brooding intensity it evolves with haunting synths and subtle acid laced over a pitched down male vocal. On the flip The Great Escape and Rapidplatz follow suit advancing with dark, hypnotic layers.

“When life itself seems lunatic, who knows where madness lies? Perhaps to be too practical is madness. To surrender dreams — this may be madness. Too much sanity may be madness — and maddest of all: to see life as it is, and not as it should be!” 

French born, Zurich based Lee Van Dowski has toured the world many times over, as party of Luciano’s Vagabundos troupe and as an individual artist. His impressive discography covers labels including Wagon Repair, Cocoon, Suara, Soma, Rekids, BPitch Control,Ilian Tape, and Mobilee. It was 2016 when we last saw the Venezuelan duo, better known as Fur Coat, drop their debut ‘Interstellar’ EP on Watergate Records and now they finally return with their follow up, the ‘Immersion’ EP.  

“Immersion” kicks off with an agile kick drum setting the stage for rapid fire percussion and an overwhelmingly satisfying ascending organ line that could be the trademark of any sci-fi film score. Add a few shudders of glimmering atmospherics and it’s a trek into the cosmic realm of Techno where space and time cease to exist. 

Flipping sides the duo dive deeper into the infinite expanse with “Inner Circle” where lush textures canvas a mesmerizing groove and hypnotic spirals of gratifying repetitive sonics resulting in a fiercely energetic yet undeniably euphoric expedition under the club lights. After Italian run label Engrave Ltd released their first compilation, simply named 'Volume 1', label bosses @dodi-palese and @musumeci return with the second chapter of the compilation series, which follows the concept of the first release by offering a platform for known but also up-and-coming artists of the electronic music scene. Quite established and renowned are Musumeci, Sisio, Simeone and Pavi alias Human Machine, who have created quite some buzz around their music ever since their first release '146', which was out on Connaisseur Recordings in 2016. The quartet rarely provides its audience with new material but when they do the music dives deep beyond the surface. 'Rosetta', Human Machine's contribution for 'II', is no exception. Starting off with an almost techno-ish bass line it is Musumeci, Sisio, Simeone and Pavi's preference for creating memorable melodies that not only comes through but takes over and is carried by the clap and recurring forward pushing and twisted synth-sounds that unload their energy.
