Pforzheim based duo PHCK pleases us with their Connaisseur Recordings premiere track 'Aeris' - a fusion of melodic deep chords that create an atmosphere that we appreciate from artists such as David August or Nicolas Jaar. 'Aeris' not only captivates their listeners but smoothly makes one reach a melancholic level that one does not want to escape from.  

'Aeris' is one out of four cuts that will be released on Connaisseur Recordings' Various Artist EP 'LRT 7' that is due on January 23rd, while the whole Livingroom Techno 7 compilation is out February 6th on the label.

Well, we must admit it is more a single hand in the air after the break kind of deal (think Italians at parties in Ibiza) but a hand none the less. Seriously though, these tunes are going to be heard all summer long. On the flip side of the mp3 are two more wistful house music lullaby's. My remix for Max Cooper's Rule 110 from the remix album of 100 Hundred Billion Sparks. Max used my vocals on the original track, cutting them up and rearranging them, so it was a lot of fun for me to have the opportunity to do the same in turn with the completed track. 

For my version, I decided to bring to it my experience as a live performer by re-recording synth parts with live instruments. There’s harmonium replacing the synth chords, piano, violin scrapes, live recorded snare and kick and a completely new vocal I sing over the top. I even recorded the sound of the wheels on my chair, swivelling and rolling up and down a concrete floor for parts of the rhythm.
