Known for his impact both in the current underground dance landscape and the 80’s electro scene, @GregWilson is a timeless producer that will bring his legendary sphere of influence to Further Future this year. 

The revered musician began his DJ career over 40 years ago and has continued to eat, sleep, and breathe dance music, eventually helping pioneer a post-disco sound out of New York that he dubbed “Electro-Funk.” 

Beyond performing, Wilson has also found a second love in writing about club culture and new music on his site Being A DJ. You can get a taste of the Greg Wilson sound with an exclusive recording of his set at the The Attik in Warrington last July, which is now being released for the first time.

This is a relaxing mix of some of our slower favorites of this year and beyond, but it really has two personalities. The first half focuses on the R&B / funk side of things, with mostly vocal emotional / political tracks to make you think and feel. The second half focuses on meditation, as we dive into the Balearic ocean with instrumental drum grooves. But, of course we had to finish with some uplifting Afro-disco. I met Fred in 1992 on my first ever DJ gig in Quebec City. We became friends and I’ve been a fan of his music ever since. I still remember the pride I felt when I put the needles on his first record in 1995 so I decided to put together a mix to celebrate 25 years of music in 25 tracks.

This mix is neither chronological nor a “Best Of”, It’s rather a collection of my own personal favourites of Originals, Remixes, Collaborations, Bootlegs that have marked my musical journey through the years in a discography that spans over 2 and half decades and over 250 releases.

I hope you will find as much joy as I did discovering or rediscovering the many moods and many shades of Fred Everything.

I sat down with Fred to play him my mix and reminisce a little about the events, places and meetings that led to the existence of those tracks.

1.Fred Everything feat Rise Ashen - Find Your Way [20:20 Vision] UK 2004
From my second album, Light Of Day featuring Rise Ashen from Ottawa who also sang on the title track. This one showcases a slightly more electro influence, written shortly after Here (Now) released as a b-side of the single Over You which came out a year before the album.

2.Fred Everything - Revolution [20:20 Vision] UK 1999
One of my biggest “hits” from my first album Under The Sun on 20:20 Vision which was also licensed by Turbo for North America. Tiga had an idea to do a video for it, which was filmed in an arena in Westmount. It features myself on vocals, through a Talk Box. I was using an Atari at the time without any audio so I used to have to sample every phrase and sometimes words and sequence it after.

Starting his career spinning records in the nineties, Larse very quickly made a
Name for himself in Germany. Bagging a residency with his first DJ gig at the Tanzcafe
In his hometown of Dortmund, his skills on the decks caught the attention of 1LIVE Radio
(Europe’s biggest youth radio station and Germany’s equivalent to BBC Radio One) who gave
Him his own show. Larse hosted 1LIVE „Klubbing“ alongside Mike Litt for over 15 years, earning
him a nomination for the German Dance Award, many loyal followers well as national and
International bookings along the way.
But it was Larse’s move into producing that really kicked things off. His 2011 release ‚The More I
Want‘ was picked by big names such as Jamie Jones and Tale of Us became a huge hit with Ibiza
clubbers. His first EP ‚Nightshift‘ on Noir Music followed shortly awards and within a few months
Larse reached the coveted number one spot of the all important Beatport Top 100 for the first
time with ‚So Long‘, also released on Noir Music.
His timeless remix for legendary Soul & Gospel singer Candi Staton, released on Defected
Records reached the Beatport number one spot again and brought him his first Gold Record in
Belgium. Intensive touring ensued with gigs at the world’s top clubs including Fabric/ London,
Sankeys/ Manchester, Polar Lounge/ NYC and Booom/ Ibiza to name only a few.
Now Larse is by no means resting on his laurels. He has already followed up with some high
profile remixes on Exploited, Peppermint Jam, Glitterbox, Eskimo Recordings, Capitol Records
and many more. With over 15 Mio plays in total, 130k monthly listeners he also has reached a
solid base on Spotify.
In 2020 Larse started the Year with the Italo-like „We Were Young“ on Musumeci’s Multinotes
Imprint, his new EP featuring Charlie Sputnik on Peppermint Jam and Remixes for Tender Games,
Orbital Drum System and a special Remix Treatment for Jazzanova coming in November.
