Ever since we released "Without Hesitation," the lead single from Inverse Universe's brand new EP, New Clear Energy, which we're premiering today, we've been anticipating the release of this triumphant 5-track electro soul and swing package.

Plenty of retro instrumentations including honky tonk pianny and throwback slide introduce the uninitiated to the Inverse Universe ... umm... universe. Throw on your dusty cowboy hat and strap on your jetpack, because this is future music made by a couple of leatherbound, steampunk time-travelers cruising through musty record bins in forgotten corners of the world.

Between "Summer Swing" and "Blue Winter Slide," we see the seasonal affective disorder of most Chicago acts breaking through the crusty frost and springing into life with some deep, knee-breaking grooves. Plenty of bass follows through, and the Atmosphere remix is icing on the cake for a handful of fun cuts.

The pair makes its debut this weekend at Concord Music Hall, for the big Manic Focus release party featuring Wick-it The Instigator and Muzzy. They'll also be hitting Dabroots in Colorado 4/18-4/20 and head to Kentucky for Paradise Music Festival in July.

8 Minutes To Burn is a touring band from the Southwestern United States that has been nominated for multiple Tucson Area Music Awards (TAMMIES) in the last several years while experiencing a recent surge of popularity with a #1 ranking by ReverbNation in the Jam category.

We are a funk based jam band with a deep love for New Orleans Funk and roots in The Grateful Dead, Blues, Rock, and Reggae. Our musical style distills those sounds into a lush original product that certainly gets people dancing. We add depth to our music with conscious and poignant lyrics and we have shared the stage with many big name acts including Junior Reid, March Fourth Marching Band, Delta Nove, The B-side Players, Josh Fischel of Bargain Music, The Super Villains, B-Foundation and many more.

The Band has popularized two festivals in our home state The FaR OuT Band & Fan Jam and SouL'D OuT Festival both in Northern Arizona. These festival projects along with successful tour runs in California and radio appearances in LA helped us to recently play the 7th Annual Tucson Gem & Jam Festival where we shared a line-up with world renowned artists like Alex Grey, Michael Minert, Random Rab, Nit Grit, and VibeSquad.  

We have since opened for a number of other artists including the Legendary Skatalites.

We are currently working on studio and live albums, which we plan to release in 2014 that will include a number of collaborations with nationally known artists, as a follow up to our first 2009 album release, GIANT MASTER CONTROL KNOB.

Mel Mason from the Tucson Weekly, the local arts tabloid, said "8 Minutes to Burn epitomizes a genre that is under represented here in Tucson, and they do it smashingly well. For fans of reggae with bluesy departures and bits of spaced-out rock, this is the real deal."

In 2014 8 Minutes To Burn will also be hosting our inaugural Wild Wild West Fest in our hometown featuring a number of musicians and other types of artists that we met during our Spring 2013 Tour.
