Drive, hankering after experimentation and powerful sound - these are three basic elements of folk-rock band "Eikumena" from Moscow.

Not aiming for belonging to any music genres, the band tries to overstep the limits of the deeply-rooted genres. The musicians don't stop experimenting with on-going trends in music and music traditions of people all over the world. Still "Eikumena" doesn't try to escape from modern tendency and explores it using archaic figures and with the help of strings and wind folk instruments. Within Eikumene's eyeshot is the whole planet not just one theme or an ethnic group. The band tries to think global and it's lyrics belongs to the past, present and future at the same time.

The band's goal is to trigger to widen the horizon to the scale of the planet and they dream about putting on a concert in space and exceed the scope of music oecumene.
