"Black Is the Colour (of My True Love's Hair)"  is a traditional folk song first known in the Appalachian Mountains region of the United States in 1915, but most probably originating from Scotland, as attributed to the reference to the Clyde in the song's lyrics.

An old poem from the Orkney Islands, first put to music by Ivan Drever - this is my interpretation of this beautiful traditional masterpiece about the perils of working on the sea and the love sailors bare for it and their home on land.

My name is Eilean. I possess possibly one of the deepest and one of the most unusual female singing voices around. I am a 27 year old professional Celtic folk singer from Wales who also writes her own songs.  My music uses traditional Celtic instruments and synthesizers.
