'Complete' is one of my favourite ever co-writes! The song was such an organic track from the get go - the chords and melody came so quickly and effortlessly!

The one thing I love about working with Matt is his love of writing honestly and saying it 'as it is' and not painting it over with too many metaphors.

The track is Matt's first original release and the track was written and recorded in Matt's own studio with the production skills of Simon Dorey.

Matt is currently working with Steve Power (Robbie Williams/Tom Jones) on his debut album which (fingers crossed) will include one of the tracks we've penned together.  Matt has a work ethic like no one I have ever met, he's an all rounder - and the proof is in the songs themselves: the delivery, the words and production.

The inspiration behind the song "Wonky Polly"

.....It was Christmas Eve 1972...i lived in a tenement in Glasgow with my mum and dad and two older brothers..the anticipation of Christmas was high. My middle brother who was nine at the time was starting not to believe in Father Christmas and had been searching the cupboards in the house for toys. He said to me after a find..."You're getting a doll for Christmas." Not wanting to not believe that Santa Claus no longer existed i told my brother that i'd wait to see what Santa Claus brought me. 
I went to bed that night thinking that i could hear Santa's reindeers in the night sky and wondering what toy would be beneath the tree for me in the morning...would it really be a doll...could my brother be right. 
...He was right...but it was no ordinary doll..it could talk...just pull a chord on its back and it could say five different sayings plus laugh (it must have had an impact on me as i can remember four of those sayings..(which are included in the song). 
As the day grew on the batteries ran down and the dolls speech gradually ground to a halt... i was gutted. Of course as we all know dolls and toys that require batteries are a nightmare on Christmas day, especially in the 70's when there were no corner shops or petrol stations open. My brothers were still playing with their cars and my doll wouldn't speak anymore! its not fair! 
Mum consoled me ...new batteries could be had...but Christmas day would be over for another year.[less]
