Saint-Petersburg based producer Jiminy Hop makes his debut on Hicky and Kalo's label Plaisirs Sonores Records with a timeless new EP called 'Parake'. The title track is a wonderful mix of organic drums, a groovy bassline, a fabulous cello line, and a magical flute that will hypnotize dancers.

The second track 'Didiza' follows the same path with some nifty drums, a groovy rhythm and a divine bassline. The piano melody is somewhat more gentle and the violins are beautiful.

Hicky and Kalo say: "We are super excited to welcome Jiminy to our label. We are big fan of his music, we played many of his tracks over the last few years. We were stunned when we listened to the tracks he sent us. We road-tested both track many times at Stereo Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver. The crowd reaction is always on point. We really feel it's a timeless EP."

Vite from Mexico rise to shine with this outstanding EP filled with uplifting grooves and great vibes to complete a massive release for finishing the year on Akbal Music.

For the main track ¨Shanti¨ Vite teams up with Hole Box to deliver a main set track with great groove and hypnotic mantra chants to create an epic journey.

Second track ¨Love Me Too¨ is a rolling driving kind of track with quirky synth sounds, brilliant pad sounds and catchy drum lines.

¨Soul Strings¨ is the closing song of the EP that rounds everything up with percussive elements and some cool arpeggio lines with high end synth chords.

D-Nox returns to DJ Zombi’s Beat Boutique with long time partner in crime, Beckers for a muscular acid workout - Polyacid - with remixes from Navar, Stereo Underground and Definition.   

Over the last 10 years, Germany’s D-Nox and Beckers have enjoyed something of a cult existence. Formed from a mutual love of the music, they were individually successful already; their meeting of minds transcending that almost immediately. Meaty and full of soul, their releases soundtrack a million e-moments with regular support from an army of peers in the Prog House world. Polyacid is no exception. Built around a bubbling acid line it twists and weaves its tale to a point where you’re genuinely upset when it finishes. 

  With such big boots to fill, the remixers had to pull out all the stops. First up, Dutch wunderkind and Lost and Found regular, Navar opts for a stripped back approach hanging the main motifs from a calming percussive network of hats, claps and woodblocks. Stereo Underground builds his mix around a repeating synth hook which quickly mesmerises as he defty mutates and twists its sound throughout. Rounding out the pack, Definition marries afro-house percussion with strings and piano to create a wondrous light and dark opus, bubbling with acidic undertones.

'Next up on Beat Boutique, Weekend Heroes join Dmitry Molosh for an all star grooveathon ‘Power Plant’. Isreali duo, Eli and Felix and Belarusian Dmitry may live far apart but their musical output binds them beyond borders. Remixes come from Paul Deep (AR) and Chris Cargo.

In original form, ‘Power Plant’ is a deep excursion into real progressive landscapes. Opening with nuanced sonics adding interest, it’s sparse arrangement gives room for all the elements to breathe. Paul Deep, fresh from his latest release on Sudbeat, stays true to form with an intricate and detailed reimagination full of the main motifs that has buckets of soul. Chis Cargo takes the original ideas in a more uptempo prog trance direction with his incendiary remix that grows in menace and tension throughout before a big melodic payoff.'

Cid Inc's Replug Records caps off a successful year by welcoming Dmitry Molosh back to the label for a new artist showcase. The Belarus native and progressive music favourite rounded out 2018 with his chart topping 'Detektor' EP for the Finnish imprint. 2019 has seen further successes, with EP's for Guy J's Armadillo Records and Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat Music sitting as the highlights. Now fresh off a contribution to Nick Warren's Balance compilation, Dmitry lands back on Replug with 'Cascade'.

Firmly sitting amongst progressive music's elite, Dmitry continues to deliver some of the genre's most beloved tracks with 'Cascade' being the latest in a long line of gems. Fuelled by rhythm and groove; it's chunky foundation, driving percussion and buoyant rhythmic core form the backbone of this exhilarating journey. Panning effects and emerging atmopheres smoothly segue into the main break, shifting the narrative further into melodic territory. Sitting comfortably in an ethereal yet emotive space, the lead motif rises, resonating on a warm and inviting frequency, gently evolving across a foggy atmospheric backdrop, before a gentle rush sparks a thrilling final act.

The companion piece 'Step By Step' follows suit with an equally impressive display of rhythm and groove. Spacious and energetic, it's a creation built around rolling bass tones and vibrant chord stabs. Ethereal phrases and buzzing effects converge as the first act unfolds, while colourful vocal fragments shift energy into the break. Timely modulation adds drama and tension across the one minute interlude, ultimately reaching a swirling crescendo and perfectly setting up a powerful third act.

Dmitry's long standing relationship with Replug has spawned several of progressive music's finest moments over the last half decade. 'Cascade' once again follows suit and looks set to be one of the winter seasons most in demand releases.
