One of Dancing Astronaut’s artists to watch in 2017 and the man behind one of the most impressive debuts of 2016, Beatport #1 album ‘One Day of Independence’ on Guy J’s Lost & Found, returns to home ground. This time in the shape of 5 incredible remixes by some of electronic music’s most intriguing and brightest stars.

Lehar, Luca Bachetti, Patrice Baumel, Termoment and Lost & Found head honcho Guy J have each reinterpreted their favourite off Khen’s future classic debut.

‘Imaginal Cells’ has been repurposed by the label boss himself into a beautiful slice of melodic goodness. With trippy FX details and a serene breakdown, its yet another Guy J classic rework. 

Diynamic's Lehar offers his take on the Khen and Guy J collabo ‘Prism’, turning down the intensity of the original with a sophisticated touch, he leads the track to deeper waters with an infectious melody that marries the familiar underlying key elements of the original in perfect symbiosis.

The sonic voyage continues with Luca Bachetti’s groovish take on ‘Authentica’. Adding to the recognisable lead melody, he gives the track an almost cinematic and atmospheric treatment that leaves you longing for more.

Patrice Baumel, fresh from the success of his recent remix of Cubicolor, tackles ‘Land of Goshen’. Taking the track in a more driving and pumping direction with a nod to 90s classic Trance, this track will cause a stir in sets from dusk to dawn.

Closing the collection on a trippy vibe with hints of old school Acid and an uncanny detailed soundscape that will leave you in awe, is Termoment’s take on ‘One Day of Independence’. A beautiful and fitting finalé to this weighty package of reworks.

Returning to Particles, E.F.G. presents his "twin-track "Thunderground" EP. Remixes come from UK and Russian talents.

Operating out of his home on the Baltic coast, Oleg Szyszkin has impressed with his E.F.G. moniker. Through a combination of "space, deep bass and maximum" energy, the Polish artist has found his music featuring on such high-profile imprints as Stellar Fountain, Passion Fruit Recordings and Electronic Tree. With the latter accounting for almost a century of production credits, E.F.G. has also found a home on Particles with his 2018 "Clockwork" EP a notable highlight. Returning with another pair of originals tracks, the title track is an electrically charged affair that bristles with energy as powerful beat, offbeat hats and woodblock percussion pave the way for a glissando lead to weave a path across proceedings. A gloriously atmospheric breakdown revels in silence and eerie effects before a female vocal proclaims "Thunderground" as the track drops back into familiar rhythmic foundations and flowing melodic lines. "Understorm" immediately hits the mark with its deep house chord patterns that form the basis for a collage of melodic lines to criss-cross each other in delayed subtlety. Immaculate use of space and texture creates a conduit for a sustained bassline to add wonderful depth and intrigue in the third movement as the melodic elements sit atop in smooth and emotive fashion.

A talent of growing stature and reputation, Rudy continues to find his music regularly featuring on Proton Music and Particles. 2018's "Time / Spirit" EP marked a sparkling Proton debut as 2019's "All Things Fade" provided another three original tracks of the highest quality with remixes from the likes of Jamie Stevens and Orsen. A number of these impressive original tracks have found their way onto the Particles catalogue, where Bluum's February 2020 remix of "Real You" is a best-selling tour de force. Rudy's reworking of "Understorm" is a typically beautiful affair. Developing the spine-tingling bassline so prominent in the original's second half, Rudy's skill is to develop complementary melodic phrases that sit alongside in elegant harmony. Evolving into a trademark piano sequence at the breakdown, the third movement is characterised by a searing lead that erupts powerfully in the latter stages to mesmerising effect.

Another artist with a cultured portfolio to call his own, Izzet continues to court admirers with his distinctive sound of progressive and deep house. Finding a clutch of productions signed to the likes of Clinique, Liquid Grooves and NewBorn Records over a decade long career, 2018's "Lost Flames" and 2019's "Summer Goodbye" saw the Russian artist hit impressive heights on Particles. A July 2020 remix of Pole Folder's "Serengeti" marked another high point as Izzet now returns with a beautiful organic house remix of "Thunderground" that revels in intricate rhythmic foundation and dominant beat. Familiar sustained pads weave a magical spell as a bouncing bassline groove enters the fray at the mid-point surrounded by evocative melodic phrases with their heart firmly in E.F.G.'s original. The result is a showcase of Izzet's craft.

Originals from E.F.G. and remixes from Rudy and Izzet combine to make "Thunderground" a powerful force of nature.

“Hypnotika” is the new release by Berlin-based producer duo Deorbiting featuring deep house interwoven with 90s reminiscent trance elements. Trance for adults! The title track is peak time deep house with dehumanized vocal fragments at 121 bpm. Next up is the single “Daedalus” at 119bpm, showcasing the duo’s expert skills in layering different rhythms and melodies. The final track “Icarus” delivers downtempo with a warm bassline and trippy synths. For the cover they asked their friend and painter Helena Adamek – she came up with a portrait melting both their heads into one another like yin and yang. This visualises the essence of their music, Deckert & Schilgen always complimenting each other with their ideas.
