Marc Benjamin - Wild Bill [OUT NOW]

A collaboration with poet/musician Heather Wastie in response to a piece of medieval chant, one of the seven great "O Antiphons" for the week leading up to Christmas, thought to date back to the 8th or 9th century. Heather sang the melody as low in her register as she could and as slowly as possible whilst maintaining the phrasing. She then composed a second melody to merge with the sustained tuba notes.

The artwork is by Alison Sabedoria who introduced Heather to this music. Here is her translation of the Latin text:

O Dawn,
splendour of eternal light,
and sun of justice,
come, and shine on those
seated in darkness,
and in the shadow of death
