'The latest release from Tash's Movement Recordings welcomes Paul Hamilton & Anartist to the label for their debut EP. The former, born in Malta and now based in Dubai, is one of the underground's most highly regarded progressive house artists. Paul has found a home on Armada, Balkan Connection, Droid9, Freegrant Music and Perspectives Digital, while his equally impressive DJ skills have seen him perform at Ministry Of Sound (Dubai) and Godskitchen (Dubai). Similarly, Polish born, Israel based producer and DJ Anartist has been a fixture of Tel Aviv's nightlife for over a decade, delighting crowds with his fresh blend of progressive house and melodic house and techno. Also an accomplished producer, Anartist has showcased his music via Beatfreak Limited, Heinz Music and Perspectives Digital. Now coming together for their debut collaborations, Paul and Anartist land on Movement Recordingswith 'Dialo', alongside remixes from Julian Nates and Ric Niels. 

The release begins with the peak time vibes of the title selection. Smooth and driving throughout, it carries a sleek yet powerful quality from the outset. Gaining momentum across the first act, the piece moves through layers of detailed percussion, alien-like effects and tantalizing arps, as placid pads push energy into the main break. The emotional narrative expands across the centrepiece with emerging melodies playing off frantic arps, before a tasteful crescendo sets the course for an exhilarating finale. The companion piece 'Lights' follows a similar sonic ethos and resonates on an equally impressive level. Remarkably powerful, it's muscular groove commands attention, moving through rolling contours and rhythmic pulses, while buoyant arps add further bounce to the framework. Sweeping effects initiate the main break, eventually melting down to a reservoir of buzzing swells and shape shifting electronics, perfectly elevating mood and setting the stage for a dynamic final act.'

D-Formation is back on Einmusika. This time he teamed up with Masella for an epic melodic EP full of warm and almost cinematic sounds. "Ahura Mazda" starts calm and reduced with the lead melody next to moody piano chords. Later the track opens up with wide strings and rhythmic patterns. "Mitra" is straight forward with a deep legato bassline and an uplifting arpegiator synth. On top we added Anahita, a beatiful ambient journey with wide soundscapes and atmopsheres.

OLAN (real name Luzana Flores) is proud to release her debut album ‘Contra’, out now via independent record label Anjunadeep. The release follows three powerful singles; ‘Wake And Return’, ‘Promise To Keep’, and ‘Ultraviolet’ which have garnered support from the likes of KCRW, Jody Wisternoff, Dosem, Eelke Kleijn, Made In Paris, Steven Weston, and Braxton to name a few.

The culmination of many months in solitude, ‘Contra’ began as a natural form of escape and expression for OLAN, helping her find peace amidst the years of uncertainty brought on by the pandemic:

“‘Contra’ is an album I wrote as a way to find some peace with my life having no definitive purpose at the time. I often try to attach meaning to everything I encounter. I force myself to re-live memories. I’ll try to unpack them and see how I could change my reality if I had just been a better person.”

Musically, ‘Contra’ is inculcated with a variety of electronic styles from melodic house, breakbeat, downtempo and drum & bass, to ambient and hip-hop. Influenced by the likes of Maribou State, Little Dragon, T.E.E.D and Bonobo, as well as the cult video game ‘Outer Wilds’, the sound of ‘Contra’ is fluid and alluringly hard to pin down. OLAN’s penchant for textural soundscapes is showcased in atmospheric tracks such as ‘Push’ and ‘Submerge’ and the buoyant Balearic vibes of ‘Material’. Conversely, the jungle rhythms and acid basslines on ‘Promise To Keep’ and ‘Reckoning’ demonstrate how raw, energetic dance-inducing songwriting comes naturally to the Atlanta-based producer.

This songwriting versatility is also showcased in OLAN’s colourful catalogue, which includes co-writing credits for ‘Bussit’ with Ari Lennox, collaborations with Mat Zo on his 2020 album ‘Illusion of Depth’, the single release of ‘In Motion’ with rising star Nourey, and ‘Push’, first released on Anjunadeep’s Reflections series.
