Arno, fka Einzelkind, inaugurates his new self titled imprint with a collaborative EP alongside DJ Dope. Across the past decade, Arno has been consistently hard at work maintaining an underground presence through his own releases which have found a home on the pre-eminent Playhouse label, Cocoon Recordings and of course his own Pressure Traxx imprint which has maintained its reputation as one of the finest purveyors of raw house and techno since its inception in 2012.

Here though, Arno marks a fresh chapter in his story, with the launch of his new self titled imprint, a home to showcase his own productions, collaborations and sonic explorations. With the imprint’s first outing, Arno shows his versatility, traversing through genres from the Garage House opener ‘Up 2 No Good’ and the raw deepness of ‘Woman,’ through to the hard to pin down Jazzy, Bruk and future RnB tinged title-cut and last but not least, the gritty breaks, intricate intertwined synth lines and trippy vocals on ‘Heavy Metal.’

Beyond a Kasper Bjørke guest spot and a smattering of live performances, there isn't much to kooky Icelandic group Sísý Ey's name. Well, until now – and what a way to make an entrance. "Do It Good" is outrageously fun: a bobbling bassline, coursing synth action and emphatic earworm vocals interlock to supreme effect; Neville Watson's aptly named "Power Dub" does similar damage.

It's the same kind of raw, untrammelled energy that Mr Intl label boss Andy Butler provided in abundance when stripping down to his underwear during a boiling Hercules & Love Affair session this time last summer. In a different set of circumstances, this would have been a nailed-on no.1 smash, but alas.

Get your booty on the floor tonight (or wait for the physical, coming Aug 14th).

Sísý Ey "Do It Good" - Boiler Room Debuts

From a small town in Normandy hails the beatsmith, DJ and Musique Large Records boss, Pierre Troel (a.k.a Fulgeance, Claude and one half of Souleance alongside Soulist).

Whereas Fulgeance’s tracks can sometimes be defined by a headier, more thrashy temperament, a different sonic undertaking is also explored by Troel when producing under his Claude moniker, illustrated by our track of today “That Jazz”. This bouncy-yet-smooth sound exemplifies house music’s jazzier (hence the apt song name), purple-tinged temperaments; a style frequently emanating from Berlin-based imprints such as Tartelet, Money $ex Records and Box aus Holz. It’s therefore not very surprising that the EP’s final track is a dreamy synth remix by Tartelet and Money $ex affiliate, Glenn Astro. Here’s hoping that more collaborations are underway.

Claude’s Whoop EP drops in full, both digitally and on vinyl, on 25th September.
