This a second improvisation featuring my Lotus Drum and the metal instruments, as well as the snare drum. Here i´m using two delays, reverb, my three send effects (1: a concert hall reverb with an auto filter and a utility, 2: a resonator with reverb and two LFO´s witch control frequency and decay on the resonator 3: a corpus).

This is an improvisation on a Lotus drum. With reverb and delay effects. A Lotus drum looks like an inverted steel drum and sounds like a mix between steel drum and vibraphone.

This is a recording of a concert i participated in at the NAIP introduction course at Stykkisholmur Island. I play metal percussion instruments and Live Electronics. We had three days to make the music and to arrange the concert.

I´m a percussion student at the Norwegian Academy of Music where I study Master in music performance. This is a page where i present some sounds and tests from my Masters project, as well as concerts and workshops with both my duo Johansen/Balducci, (Geir Johansen and Stian Balducci(live electronics)) and other musicians. My project consist of two parts; a technical part where I develop a percussion setup with electronics. The other part is about making music, mostly with my duo Johansen/Balducci. The setup I use at the moment consist of a cement cutting blade, a metal spring, a Lotus Drum and a snare drum as well as effects in Ableton Live witch i control with a Keith McMillen 12step, Novation Launch Control and 4 expression pedals.
