Premiere: Sahar Z - Back In My Arms (Shai T Remix) [Lost & Found]

Opening 2022's final quarter, Cid Inc's Replug Records welcomes Mike Griego back to the label for a new EP. Based in Buenos Aires, the Argentinean DJ and producer has carved out a unique place in the electronic underground. His exacting design, addictive grooves and avant-garde melodies have made for a transcendent sound that continues to unify dancefloors around the world. With a career that now approaches fifteen years and one hundred discography credits, Mike would have to be considered one of progressive music's elite artists. A meticulous discography reflects his choosy nature; with Replug and Sudbeat serving as the primary landing spots for his musical output. With 2021 being highlighted by his most recent Replug vehicle ‘Dysbiosis', the Argentine made a much-lauded return to Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat Music earlier this year with ‘Foreign Affair', before laying down impressive renditions of Kasper Koman's ‘In Circles' and Dmitry Molosh & Navar's ‘Foreign Wonders', released c/o Juicebox Music and Proportion respectively. Now, continuing what has been a great year, Mike returns to Replug with a three-track showcase entitled ‘Flying Doves'. 

As a favourite of Replug label boss Cid Inc across the summer season, EP opener and title selection ‘Flying Doves' finds Mike at his creative best. Shot in high-definition and full of detail and drive, it's an emotive voyage where the Buenos Aires resident flexes his freethinking muscles and lands comfortably in-between groove-centric science and hopeful musicality. The inevitable zenith of this peak-time excursion mounts with nostalgic melodies and balmy harmonics converging, achieving a rich, colourful timbre over a bed of pulsating beats and fascinating percussion arrangements. 

More enigmatic yet is the EPs second selection 'Brothi'', a creation which finds Mike etching towards a darker monochrome. Plush kick drums and voluptuous bass stabs lead to electrified iterations of new age sonics. Cleverly cadenced coactions underpin a fascinating blend of pyrotechnic effects, before segueing into the main break where metallic melodies and effervescent rides unite, setting the course for a finale of rebounding rhythms and surreal sonic aesthetics.

The third and final selection 'Blood Echo' further solidifies Mike's transcendent abilities. Possessing a dramatic undercurrent, the Argentine works hypnotizing structures over punchy kick drums and detailed percussion, creating waves of locomotive meditation. Its thrilling pulse has become a production hallmark for Mike, one where inventive drum patterns, mesmerizing rhythms and quixotic effects carry the storyboard onwards to a thunderous dance floor awakening. A fitting conclusion to a fresh three-track odyssey, one where Mike carefully balances technique and musicality, thus continuing his tenure as one of Argentina's most beloved progressive house producers.

Premiere: Gaston Sosa - AMEP (HAFT Remix) [roku]

Azerbaijani producer Tali Muss @talimuss makes his debut on Univack with Interlocutor / Reward, a Progressive House EP featuring two original tracks and two remixes by acclaimed artists Kebin van Reeken @kebinvanreeken-1 (Argentina) and Michael A @michael_a_official (Belarus). This release channels deep emotions through sophisticated and energetic structures, seamlessly blending melodic introspection with peak-time functionality.

The EP opens with "Interlocutor", a sonic dialogue woven from a rich array of melodic elements, a solid groove, liquid arpeggios, and energetic basslines, all masterfully blended. "Reward" continues the journey with a more assertive pulse, ascending melodies, and a hypnotic groove that conveys a feeling of emotional resolution.

Kebin van Reeken’s remix of Interlocutor brings a more club-oriented approach, adding sharp percussion and cinematic drive, making it ideal for demanding dancefloors. The EP closes with Michael A, who reimagines Reward in his signature deep, fluid, and sophisticated style, with atmospheric layers, granular effects, and a groove that drifts like nocturnal mist.

PREMIERE: Emi Galvan - Supernova [Melody Of the Soul]

A legendary figure, Paul Deep has been at the vanguard of the underground dance scene for over a decade. Now he returns to Proton Music with the brand new "You Do" EP.

Showcasing his music on such glittering imprints as GMJ & Matter's Meanwhile, Henry Saiz's Natura Sonoris and Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat Music, the Argentinean has been a regular on Proton Music since 2022 with his 3-track "Orchid" and June 2024 "Odyssey" original EPs. Returning for the first time in over a year, "You Do" is a typically smooth and polished affair with chest-thumping kick, rolling percussive groove and ticking hi-hats. Add in a subterranean sub-bassline and deliciously hypnotic revolving motifs that expand with glistening delicacy at the mid-point, and the track reveals the extraordinary quality of Paul Deep's production talent.

On remix duties, Roger Martinez is a seasoned, "trance inducing" DJ and production maestro who has been part of the Proton Music roster for more than 15 years since a 2008 debut and the "Retrospect EP". Remixes of Matt Rowan and Moonbeam followed before 2017's "Dream State" was a notable highlight in a glittering portfolio which later saw remixes from Stas Drive and Orsen. Returning with a masterful reinterpretation of "You Do", a powerful tribal groove is immediately in evidence before mesmerising melodic phrases filter into sonic range. A sustained bassline melody at the breakdown is a spine-tingling highlight that perfectly complements the arpeggiated melodic sequencing, while the driving tribal rhythms hit hard once again in the second half alongside an intermittent vocal sample.

A Proton Music newcomer, Juan Ibanez is no stranger to the modern Progressive House scene. Hailing from the north-western province of La Rioja, the Argentinean producer fuses deep and progressive sounds with his music finding its way onto such blue-chip labels as Juicebox Music, Mango Alley and Nick Warren's The Soundgarden. Now adding Proton Music to that resumé, the Juan Ibanez remix of "You Do" is a sophisticated gem characterised by an intricately programmed rolling groove that lays the perfect foundation for a magnificently deep bass groove to evolve underneath haunting new melodies and the central refrain of Paul Deep's original. As the bassline evolves into new directions, so the melodies follow in effortless patterns as the breakdown explodes into progressive breakbeat territory with whispered vocal sample, before a second half of dizzying arpeggio joy.

Paul Deep finds his magical touch once more with "You Do" ably abetted with remixes from Roger Martinez and Juan Ibanez.
