Fairy Tales (Are Not Enough)

This was my first time playing live in public since my mother passed away at the end of September. Throughout her final stay at the hospital, I found myself drawn to a public piano in one of the hospital's lobbies. When I couldn't express myself in words, I knew they were there and would listen and speak for me. 

This song was written in 2022, when my poly was going through a tough moment. It is about the unspoken reliance we give to those we love - to be there when they are at their weakest and to honor their trust in us with our strength when they can no longer bear it.
