Ziger lands back on ICONYC this week with a brand-new single entitled 'Feel the Bass'. The Greek producer continues to be one of the top tier progressive house artists with continued support from Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren, along with releases on Eleatics, Beatfreak, Sudbeat and his own Eat My Hat imprint. 

'Feel The Bass' finds Ziger at his creative best with a driving, hypnotic production that's nicely dialed in or the dance floor. Punchy beats and a full, driving groove anchor the piece, as vibrant tones and spacey effects adorn the framework. The main break hits suddenly and its astral charm quickly saturates your pleasure centers, before melting down to a cavernous reservoir as the beats drop for a storming finale. 

The first remix of 'Feel the Bass' comes courtesy of LA based producer Anakim who returns to the label with a deep melodic remix here. The US artist reshapes the original elements into something deeper and more melodic spacious sounding. The wonk factor on the low end is quite high and monumentally groovy as well, nicely playing off the rolling rhythmic qualities as dulcet hooks and gentle harmonics drift in and out of the framework. The main break shifts the narrative into more emotive territory but the dance floor sensibility remains, with muted beats and percussive clusters building towards a tasteful drop. Superb rework from Anakim. 

The third and final interpretation comes from label debutants Propellar. The Berlin based duo follow excellent releases on MUKKE, Katz & Kauz and Family Piknik with a brilliant interpretation here. Deep, compelling and acutely mysterious, it's deep melodic qualities and richly textured groove make for a lovely first act. As atmospheres evolve, distinctive stabs and vocal edits steal the air, before a one-minute break takes you further into a haze of psychedelic audio, perfectly setting up a groovy finale. A brilliant remix from Propellar that's likely destined for the sets of the big boy brigade. Highly recommended.

With 'Hunger' we welcome back New York's finest and label resident Allies for Everyone and Rafael Cerato. Allies & Rafael, who don't need any introduction, treat us with a brand-new track that oozes class and sophistication. 'Hunger' features rich driving textures; as well as euphoric and moody deep house vibes to satisfy ambient, uplifting and feel-good needs, which are the keywords for this beautiful and extraordinary release.

Allies for Everyone & Rafael open proceedings with their smashing original mix. The duo's maturity and musical development is in full swing, as they kick off with a deep, hypnotic beat which is interspersed with subtle effective percussion a profound floaty grooves and indie influences, turning this one into an underground anthem with a very soul tangling appeal. The hypnotizing groove combined with Allies' smooth vocal work gradually ease their way to the breakdown before all elements combine to be unleashed into a rising melodic hook, intertwined with the infectious groove that fades in and out for maximum effect.

Indian maestro Browncoat's interpretation opens proceedings on the remix front; he hits all the right chords from the word go. Known for his distinct and quality driven production style, Browncoat's deep entry is intermixing with glowing drive, filtered stabs and stunning groove which beautifully leads into a drop full of tension and excitement, with the understated yet driving bassline powering the groove along. He manages to keep the energy up, while allowing the driving melodic house feel to shine thru over the many layers and textures to create a beautiful soundscape to round off this classy underground crowd pleaser. Essential stuff!

The second remix comes from label debutant Th3 Oth3r. The Spanish' producers sound is a tough thing to pin down. He is such a unique act in the sense that his emotional creations carry quite a large scope. Th3 Oth3r is not afraid to explore esoteric or introspective themes and the end result is always a compelling one. Such is the case with his remix of 'Hunger', which carries many of his most loved production hallmarks. From a warm, meaty low end to icy atmospherics and an effects storyboard to get lost in, there is certainly a lot to love. The main break being the high point, with the mood shifting from emotive to ominous with an effortless ease. It's something you rarely see and he pulled off beautifully here.

Allies for Everyone & Rafael Cerato's return to ICONYC, with two amazing remixes from Browncoat & Th3 Oth3r, is a triumphant one. 'Hunger' manages to deliver a message of sustained musical relevance in emphatic fashion to warm the soul. 'Hunger' sees a worldwide release on September 9th, 2022 via all well-known digital content providers. Not to be missed!

I am breathing electronic music since late 70s and that's over 45 years now. From Kraftwerk, Jean Michel Jarre, Mike Oldfield, Depeche Mode, Erasure, Yazoo, Alphaville, Men without Hats, Nitzer Ebb, Die Krupps, Front 242, Anne Clark, Camouflage, Gary Numan, OMD, Apopytygma Berzerk and even the Commodore 64 demo & break dance scene to more contemporary Electronic music artists, I witnessed the evolution of Electronic music, which basically means I am an old fart and consider myself an authority in this music genre 😵 Currently I listen DnB almost exclusively. But I do not like to restrict myself at all, enjoying flavors like Electronica, Trance, Psytrance, Tech House, Dubstep, Deep House, Future Pop, Trap, Techno, UK Bass and of course EBM/Industrial as well.

What you will find in my likes and playlists is the top of the crop in Electronic Music, I will  absolutely not list any bullshit. A track I have not listed might be just that: Bullshit, just mediocre or an artistic gem which I haven't discovered yet.

Eklektisch is the label run by esteemed Spanish DJ and producer, Edu Imbernon. Since 2008, the label has showcased a wide range of house and tech styles from a number of established and breakthrough artists. As well as the boss himself, the likes of Coyu, Uner, David August, Solomun, Los Suruba, Henry Saiz, Rodriguez Jr and many more have released on the imprint. Perfect electronic music for the more discerning dancefloors is the label's mission, with many of the releases being played by top spinners including Agoria, Laurent Garnier, Sasha, Hernan Cattaneo, X-Press 2 and many more besides.
