Pole Position - Invaders [EKLEKTISCH]

'Multi-instrumentalist Deckert and genre-blending artist Daniele Di Martino, both from Berlin, have made an EP that transcends genres and the regular perception of what earhangers are. Deckert and Daniele Di Martino have created a pounding track called “Wezen”, which out of the three tracks on the EP can best be described as the action piece. Then comes “Soro”, the drama out of the bunch - melodrama, to be precise. And lastly, “Moonscape” is the thriller slash adventure that leaves the listener longing for mystery in a state of constant excitement.

Although the three tracks are different as night and day, they’re not entirely unsimilar. A common theme with all three, however, is their uncanny ability to keep surprising the listener. Oh, you thought the track was over? Think again! From the first listen to the second and the third, you’ll still get that feeling that each track is finished, only to get blasted with another crescendo of instruments, percussion, and melody.

It’s no wonder that Deckert, who has years of experience with a wide range of instruments, together with Daniele Di Martino, a man who is known for his genre-bending skills, have come up with such a powerful mix of musical influences. The breaks, the riffs, the melodies; they all weave effortlessly while at the same time trying to overpower each other.

Each track has a distinct characteristic attached: With “Wezen” it’s the action-packed boastful sounds of pure strength, with “Soro” it’s the longing and the aching, and finally with “Moonscape” it’s waves of incredible intensity. But all of them follow no rules and bow to no dancefloor fad. They go way beyond. Get ready to have your mind - and your ears - blown by this absolute stellar bag of gems by Deckert and Daniele Di Martino.'

Italian artist Ivan Masa, who already made a contribution to the Four To The Floor series, is bringing his first full EP to Diynamic. Four tracks of late 80s Wave and early 90s Rave make up his „Limitless EP“.
Title track „Limitless“ smoothly launches us with a sturdy bass synth, ethereal pads and the gentle vocals of fellow Italian singer India. A cozy time capsule to kick off our journey into the previous millennium.
The endeveour continues with Padologi, where we encounter our first Metroid shower to maneuver through. At first we’re just dodging small dissonant stabs and chords, then a daft bass synth, until we get all up into an erratic acid line that makes our heartbeat reach new heights.
„Crash Your Hands“ is classic 90s Rave, with space age sirens high energy percussions and „Notte Di Maggio“ slowly returns us home, with a reminiscent tear in our heart and too many adventurous memories to tell

Argentina is a country with a celebrated progressive house heritage. One of the key figures at the inception of the movement was Marcelo Vasami. First hitting the scene in 2005, the Buenos Aires-based  artist quickly became one of the genre's most recognizable names, eventually showcasing his music on Sudbeat and Hope Recordings. He continues to be one of his country’s most popular DJs, having shared the stage with Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, Guy J and Replug label boss Cid Inc. Having debuted on Replug in 2011, Marcelo now makes a long overdue return with a brand new EP entitled 'A Fantastic Fear Of Everything'.

Original music from Marcelo has been scarce as of late, with his last project (a collaboration with fellow countryman Nicko Izzo) being released well over a year ago on Nick Warren's Hope Recordings. 'A Fantastic Fear Of Everything' couldn't arrive with more anticipation and points to being the Argentine's career best work.  Entrancing soundscapes combined with a sub heavy groove and strong rhythmic elements set the piece in motion. Fading to prominence, a tasteful arp naturally evolves, allowing you to get lost in a sea of cosmic vibrations. Chilling moods resonate at the core of the centrepiece, building slowly with charismatic charm, before a rush of percussion sparks a powerful drop and seductive finale.

Returning once again to his esteemed imprint is Henri Hurtig aka Cid Inc, who provides the lone interpretation of 'A Fantastic Fear Of Everything'. An eventful summer saw the Finnish artist with EPs on Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat Music and Replug Records, the latter of which is still enjoying time in Beatport's progressive house chart, now four months after its release. Cid Inc's vivid imagination and uncanny sense of club dynamics brings 'A Fantastic Fear Of Everything' even closer to a peak time dance floor. The ebb and flow of its energy is engaging, as a rolling full bodied groove, redemptive rhythms and avant-garde sci-fi textures unite in perfect harmony for this synth-driven scorcher. Already a highlight in Cid Inc's recent sets across the world, it's now set to be one of the biggest and most sought after progressive house tracks as 2017 winds to a close. 

The companion piece 'Plot' showcases a deeper, darker side of Marcelo's studio repertoire. Quirky, tough and a touch subversive it's an interesting contrast in mood and design. Primed for dance floor destruction, its funked-up progressive attitude is powerful with enticing strokes, buzzing effects and ghostly vocals adding their own melancholic touch. It perfectly completes the release which now sits as Marcelo's most accomplished work to date.

Starting 2021 kicking like yer proverbial mule, hot on the heels of The Selador Showcase: The Twelfth Night Part One, we are proud to present, with a characteristic mix of dexterity, alacrity and logic – Part Two! 

Like its predecessor, this second instalment once again puts the spotlight on a whole host of global electronic production talent (2 x welcome returnees, 4 x Selador debutants) and covers a multitude of styles in one essential package.

First, we find hot Russian duo Goom Gum in tandem with Istanbul-based Gaidukova. ‘Freedom’ is a wonderfully constructed riff fest, underpinned by a mean growling bassline. Peak time action.

Next up, the prolific Several Definitions (Switzerland) brings us the magnificent brooding beast that is ‘Boske’. Maximum wonkiness, just how we like it.

UK scene stalwart Kiz Pattison delivers ‘Intruder’ – this particular intrusion is most welcome though as the insistent lead riff burrows its way into the darkest recesses of your cranium. Hold tight.

London-based Rashid Ajami follows renowned for the emotional depth of his productions, and the beautiful ‘The Lie’, in partnership with Dröm, will only help cement that reputation. Proper swish.

Next from Spain, we welcome Martin HERRS & Thimble, whose hypnotic ‘Impala’ is awash with exotic sounds cascading over a pulsating bassline. Deep, unrelenting business. 

And we conclude with Nila, the New Zealand-based Scot adding to his growing stature with Asyn on the yearning vocals for the powerful, instantly inspiring ‘Answers’.
