I is an improvised mixture of old and new stuff. Musical collage between ambient and glitchy experimantal electronics with some deep synth presence and live piano loops. It is an set of pictures from past and presence of Ukraine. It is spirirtual and rhytmical, IDMish, and industrial and soft. Here is everything I was silent about during the year 2022.

Tradition

Back in 2004, when I was starting my musical path, I was also part of the literature community in Lviv. It was the time of regular meetings of the Poetry Cafe KABINET, and Lviv Book Forum Festival. Nazar Honchar - conceptual poet and urban philosopher was also a part of that community. I was too small, as I was considering myself back then, to make some projects with him, but I was shure, that I would make a project with him.
Nazar Honchar died in 2009, I think it was the first loss in my life. I also consider that time as the beginning of the end of life as it was. From today's perspective it is clear that all those losses lead us, Ukrainians where we are today in 2023.

This album is me trying to fake what is not possible, to collaborate with Nazar Honchar and Ihor Rymaruk, who died one year earlier - in 2008.
But despite the background it is not so dark and sad, it is deep and conceptual, as it should be. And it is retrospective, as the oldest track comes from 2017.

Traditionally I have been using audio recordings made by Andriy Izdryk and Yuri Kucheriavyi as part of the Zhyvi Holosy project, supported by Old Lviv DZYGA.

This album is considered as the 2CD Experimental Audio Poetry Suite release. So be aware, that tracks 01-13 are the first one entity, and 14-27 - are the second one.

Ще в далекому 2006 році я запланував собі зробити кілька міксів на уривки з фільму Андрія Тарковського "Сталкер". В той час задум залишився на рівні кількох нарізок з фільму і декількох демок, які, проте, так і не об'єдналися в якусь певну сукупність...
Йшли роки, писалися нові композиції і я забув про цей задум...відклав його до кращих часів...
Шість років по тому мені пощастило потрапити на презентацію нової книги Оксани Забужко "З мапи книг і людей", яка відбувалася на чернівецькому літературному фестивалі Meridian Czernowitz. Письменниця зачитала уривок про свої враження від Києва, в день аварії на ЧАЕС. Уривок вразив мене дуже сильно...врешті почала вимальовуватися певна картина. Я згадав про свій задум, так, наче він не міг бути втілений до появи цієї книги, цих спогадів, цих роздумів і коментарів письменниці.
Композиції, які увійшли до альбому "ЗОНА" датовані різними роками, деякі вміщені в оригінальному варіанті, вони не потребували жодних змін, більшість, проте, були зведені наново і адаптовані до текстів. Саме текст став тим тематичним стержнем, якого не вистачало для втілення ідеї раніше, текст дав розуміння багатьох аспектів, свідками котрих я та моє покоління особисто не були, проте які дуже тісно пов'язані з нашим, так званим, "чорнобильським поколінням".
Кожна композиція несе в собі смислове навантаження з відсилкою до її назви. Кожен твір - це маленька новела, замальовка, з безлічі образів, спогадів, розповідей, роздумів, цитатоколаж звуків природи, звуків міста, імпровізації на тему роботи дозиметра, стукоту серця, гуркоту поїздів, на яких люди масово покидали Київ і парафрази ключових топосів пов'язаних із аварією на ЧАЕС.
Філософсофське тло альбому, проте, не обмежується суто "чорнобильською" тематикою. Інспірований ідеями Оксани Забужко, я старався зробити акцент на деяких глобальних та зовсім дрібних проблемах, з якими людство вже стикнулося...


Серцебиття

Myroslav Trofymuk – Junior aka AЙKTRONER, Master of Classical Philology (Lviv National University) and Digital Marketing (University of Information technology and Management / Rzeszow / Poland) photographer, designer, musician, writer, translator. Founder of the Zemla.Studio and the HOMEPLAYING music & social project.
Engaged in making music since 2004. Musical interests are to be described as combination of improvised electronic music, with some avantgarde academic experiments, sometimes with ambient neoclassical mood, abstract textures with plunderphonics from Ukrainian traditional music, with concrete IDM'ish or dub techno finish. The important component in his musical compositions is experimenting with ambient sounds and human voices.
In 2013, he debuted with the ZONA project, based on dark ambient and Oksana Zabuzhko’s texts.
In 2014, within the HOMEPLAYING project and in collaboration with the artist Yulia Bugaeva, he initiated the City’s Districts Lviv project, a music and visual presentation of the Lviv City. Curated by Myroslav Trofymuk impro meeting sessions ХАТНЄГРАННЯ were happening in Lviv between 2013 and 2018 and the last 99’ session from 2019 was published on Polish independent label Audiomat.
In 2015, Myroslav organized the First International Forum of Independent Initiatives HOMEPLAYING. KITCHEN for the exchange of experience between European (including Polish and Ukrainian) grassroots initiatives. Key figures of Warsaw, Kyiv, Ternopil, Luhansk, Dnipro and Lviv experimental music scenes took part at the event.
In 2017 took part in the Gaude Polonia scholarship program, where initiated his ongoing research and artistic project [IN]DEPENDENCE. Myroslav is working as a graphic designer / marketing consulting specialist with Lviv Philharmonic Hall, INSO-Lviv Orchestra and Lviv Unesco City of Literature Office. He is related to some NGOs in Lviv, such as NURT and FREDRA61. He was co-organising public events with Polish initiative TRZECIA FALA, polish cassette label PIONIERSKA REC., related to Krakow based Music Academy and Krakow Academy of Arts and AudioArt Festival.
Between 2017-2019 Myroslav is taking part at LWOWRO program - Cooperation for Cultural managers from Lviv and Wroclaw. He continued his research of grassroots initiatives in Poland and Ukraine, making interviews with independent publishers, culture managers and CEO of independent businesses.
During 2020-2021 shoots two documentaries PORTRETACIYA, about painter Borys Firtsak and HABITAT, about Vasyl Deresh, the first researcher of Stilsko hill-fort.
Starting 2022 author of CENTRUM MUNDI audio show at Polish Radio for Ukraine, show which is continuing researching the contemporary music scene in Ukraine and Poland.
His diptych album SON/BABYLON XII was being published between 2022-2023 on Zemla.Studio
