Vertical is Caterina Barbieri's debut album, composed for vocals and Buchla 200 modular synthesizer.

Vertical takes a meditative approach to primary waveforms and the polyrhythm of harmonics, stretching the boundaries between drone, minimalism and techno in multichannel systems. This minimalistic focus arises from the polyrhythmic and stratigraphic potential of voltage-controlled sequencers.

Synthesis, drone and immersive listening are three fundamental conditions to enhance an advanced auditory art, not based on extrinsic links, but solely built on the experience of the spectrum, able to develop our very limited ability of perceiving the vertical domain of music, involving us in a holistic way. Caterina Barbieri is a composer and performer of electro-acoustic music. Mostly interested in modular synthesis, three-dimensional spatialisation and psychoacoustic aural sculpture, her music arises from a meditative approach to primary waveforms and the polyrhythm of harmonics..

She received her degree in classical guitar and electro-acoustic music at the Conservatory of Bologna, Italy (plus an exchange program at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm, Sweden) with a thesis about time, space and spectrum in vertical music. She's currently pursuing a bachelors in Literature and she's active as audiovisual artist, acousmatic composer and guitarist. Her work has been commissioned and performed in festivals and experimental music venues

Myroslav Trofymuk – Junior aka AЙKTRONER, Master of Classical Philology (Lviv National University) and Digital Marketing (University of Information technology and Management / Rzeszow / Poland) photographer, designer, musician, writer, translator. Founder of the Pup Zemli creative group and the HOMEPLAYING music & social project. Engaged in making music since 2004. He has two basic areas of interest, i.e. combining audio poetry with music accompaniment, that is sometimes close to hip-hop; and the second area is the experimental electronic music. He involves computer programs and analog sound sources. The important component in his musical compositions is experimenting with ambient sounds and human voices. In 2013, he debuted with the ZONA project, based on dark ambient and Oksana Zabuzhko’s texts. In 2014, within the HOMEPLAYING project and in co-with the artist Yulia Bugaeva, he initiated the City’s Districts Lviv project, a music&visual presentation of the city. In 2015, Myroslav organized the first international forum of independent initiatives HOMEPLAYING. KITCHEN for the exchange of experience between European (including Polish and Ukrainian) grassroots initiatives. In 2017 took part in Gaude Polonia scholarship program, where initiated his ongoing research and artistic project [IN]DEPENDENCE. Myroslav is working as a graphic designer / marketing consulting specialist with Lviv Philharmonic Hall. He is related to some NGO’s in Lviv, as NURT, FREDRA61. He was co-organising public events with polish initiative TRZECIA FALA, polish cassette lable PIONIERSKA REC., he is related to Krakow based Music Academy and Krakow Academy of Arts. Nowadays Myroslaw is taking part at LWOWRO program - Cooperation for Cultural managers from Lviv and Wroclaw.
