„3 Shots“ with Ektschn!

Q: Ektschn! ist ein sehr frisches Projekt, daher erzählt bitte kurz und knapp, wer es macht und was es damit auf sich hat?

A: Aloha,
Ich bin Mirco und ich bin Pascal von Ektschn.
Unsere gemeinsame „Groovestory“ begann ende 2013.
Ich (Pascal aka Beatamines) habe Mirco aka Mirco Niemeier zu mir ins Studio
eingeladen um aus gemeinsamen Interesse Musik zu machen.
In der ersten Studiosession (2 Tage) entstanden gleich Zwei Tracks „Chunky“ und „Ektschn“.
Die haben wir dann nach der finalen mixsession einfach mal an die Jungs von Super Flu geschickt und zack ein paar Tage später kam eine Positive Antwort und die Jungs haben die Tracks gesigned.
Dann ging das leidige Thema mit der Namenssuche für unser Projekt los. 2 Tage Brainstorming Eine Din A4 Seite voller Namen führte leider immer noch nicht zu dem finalen Namen. Bis unser gemeinsamer Freund und jetzt Ektschn booker Tony meinte: „Warum nehmt ihr nicht einfach „Ektschn“?! So wie ihr euren ersten Track genannt habt. Man muss dazu sagen, Pascal hat immer so eine Namensliste auf dem iphone wo er seit mehreren Jahren coole Wörter abspeichert, die er für seine und unsere Produktionen benutzt. Nach 5 Minuten Telefonkonferenz wollten wir alle 3 dann keinen anderen Namen mehr für uns!
Da war sie nun unsere erste Ektschn Scheibe „Chunky EP“ auf Sunset Handjob.

Q: Was erwartet uns in Eurem Set? Ist es ein spezielles Set oder euer typischer Sound?

A: Wir versuchen in unseren Mixtapes eine Mischung aus beiden.
Hörbar und Tanzbar!
Euch erwartet eine bunte Mischung aus Tracks die wir gerne Spielen sowie auch noch unreleast stuff von uns im easy listeing tempo!

Q: Was steht bei Euch als nächstes an?

A: Aktuell vollenden wir unsere Zweite EP die im Herbst auf Monaberry erscheinen wird.
2 Remixe sind auch noch in der Pipeline! Erster Remix für unsere Buddys von Sokool wird auf OFF Recordings erscheinen. 
Und der Zweite für M.in auf Zoo:Technique!

Berlin is the city we call home. A place where musical inspiration wonders through the air and eventually reaches out to those who listen. We take good pride on our a&r department as we have discovered and pushed a good number of talented musicians from all over the world, this time we didn't have to go too far since its in Germany's capital where we can find SoKool. Mathias and Thomas teamed up in 2011 and since then they've been on the rise with releases in Heinz Music, Poesie Musik and Katermukke and they now deliver an impressive pair of incredible songs that will sure do great damage in dancefloors across the world.

Teaming up with the potent voice of Mr Schug they create "Recognize", a feel-good journey with a high emotional content, one of those tracks that gives instant goosebumps. Full of soul and with huge synthwork it inmediately caught our ear, and we decided to bring on the guys from Ektschn (Beatamines + Mirco Niemeier) who add their groovy swing keeping the harmonic and vocal values intact in their bouncier percussive interpretation.

Things get techier on the b-side with "Free Your Mind", with a darker deep atmosphere with bubbly synth-bass and great use of effects to create a mind-bending moment in those sweaty nights.

The sun sets for the 8th time over the vinyl edge, pushing Ektschn! – another bass drum in your dancing face. The two boys, behind the Ektschn! project, present you, out of deep gratitude, with three jewlery boxes, embedded in matted black velvet with a smokey walnut note.  

The first box contains a sweaty magic bean with the name of „Phonica“. The sun makes it melt away on your tongue and makes you realize how the sound is building up and up, making you wanna dance... And dance and to never stop again. Heavenly. The second box is full of dreamy sounds and vocals which fit perfectly together for the sunrise when you, floating as a feather, can enjoy it with full pleasure with all your senses.
