Brenin Edmunds, born in Scarborough, Ontario is not your ordinary struggling musician. Throughout the last 10 years, Brenin has done more with his music then most people do in a life time, and he's just starting. In early 2000, Brenin began producing and mastering his own hip-hop recordings. Although the musicianship needed work, the producing efforts were outstanding for a 13 year old.

After a slew of 'demo' type hip-hop albums (Most notably CUBEd and As Black As White Gets) that were distributed throughout the areas Brenin resided between 2000-2003 under the monikerRUBiX, he began working in rock music with the band Mudorcs. After releasing 3 albums by 2004 (Mr. Postman, Immortal andSoul Oxide), Mudorcs took a hiatus and Brenin persued a solo-rock career as well as producing more hip-hop. In 2005, Breninindependently released his first rock effort In Doubt. The album featured the singles Float and Soul'd which did somewhat well, but the album as a whole was a flop. In 2006, Brenin (as his aliasRUBiX) signed an independent record contract with California based Iron Fist Entertainment (who housed Halifax based rapperJ-Bru, known for collaborating with Classified) and released the album Somewhere Between Me and Myself. The album took well, but due to artistic differences, Brenin parted with Iron Fist Entertainment. Also in 2006, Brenin released his follow-up 'rock' record called Project Underdog. Due to it's digital nature of style,Brenin named the genre 'New Millenium Wave'. The album did well on some radio stations with it's single A Break in the Chain of Reaction and was distributed through CafePress.com.

In between 2006-2009, Brenin kept fairly quiet as far as music was concerned. He enrolled into college, dropped out and persued work to finance his arts. In 2008, Brenin Edmundsdistributed a 'mix-tape' type album titled A Taste of Things to Come which featured unheard acoustic songs, new and old hip-hop songs, acapella tracks and rock oriented tracks (including a cover of Radiohead's Creep). Soon after that, Brenin began working on MUSAIC.

In March 2009, Brenin Edmunds released his 3rd solo rock effort titled Don't Trust Anyone...And Watch What Happens When I Do This. Considered to be a MUSAIC of genres, the album features straight rock tracks such as Point of View and Going to Hell, hard rock tracks such as Tear Out My Heart and Burn!, radio-friendly pop track Meet You and even a touch of hip-hop with the old school influenced track What a World. This album was released on March 12th 2009 through Amazon.com's distribution service.

After completing Don't Trust Anyone...And Watch What Happens When I Do This... Brenin decided to move back into hip-hop. Not having worked on anything hip-hop related in roughly 4 years, it was speculated that his touch was lost...not the case. The 11 tracks available on the brand new album North American Hero are some of the finest, well written and catchy hip-hop songs ever written by Brenin Edmunds. A major difference between previous hip-hop albums, and this one also is thatBrenin has decided to shed himself of an alias. Although the name RUBiX appears in a few tracks, a preference has been made using his real name.

In 2010 Brenin began working with his new band Mute Union. Mute Union was formed in a completely unlikely fashion with lead singer Brenin Edmunds who comes from a hip-hop background, guitarist Steve Harwood who is the drummer from thrash metal band Autonomous Din, drummer Adam Sampson who is normally a blues singer/guitar player and Bryan Loree, a rock blues infusion guitar player on bass, Mute Union was a shift into a new direction for each member of the band.  After playing countless shows (including playing at the Hard Rock Cafe inToronto, Ontario during Canadian Music Week 2011) Mute Union entered the studio at Epik Productions and released theUnionized Mutiny EP which consisted of 3 solid hard rock tracks including the very well received first single But It's Alright.  In late 2011 Mute Union split due to artistic differences.

Aside from a few hip-hop tracks recorded in early 2012, Brenin has remained very quiet on the music scene.  Until 2014...
