Alquimia is the first sessions I recorded while traveling through latin america. It’s a momentum of so many influences, experiences and energies. Especially Tulum had a big impact on this journey. The cleansing smell of the copal, the colour of the turquoise carribean beach, the powerful mayan vortex - all of them are woven in the sound of Alquimia.

Alquimia – a word of wisdom and knowing. How do we come to a knowing? When are we ready to receive wisdom? Especially with this podcast I want to share that sometimes it doesn’t flow at all. I tried to bring my favourite songs in a special order together but the flow wasn’t how I like it. I tried and tried and tried, almost the whole day I tried to find a solution and at the end it was impossible. Then I had to take the decision of letting go… enjoyed the rest of the night and opened myself for the momentum. It wasn’t the right time to produce a set. Next day the magic of knowing happened. Within 2 hours I created this beautiful journey without any troubles. It was just pure flow, pure guidance, pure alquimia of sound. I am so grateful to experience, that sometimes, we have to be patient, to let go, to open ourselves for the greater wisdom. When we and the time is ready we receive the knowing of selection for the right things in the right moment, to have an understanding of the whole situation, ingridients and details. To be able to hold a space and create something magical - this is what alquimia is about.

This one has been in the works for a while but didn't actually make it out in 2021 but hey, what does the month or even the year matter anymore? This is a series for what was and well, 2021 -2022 has been pretty wild for the world (aren't they all lately?), oscillating between hope and heartbreak. This mix somehow tries to capture that. 

I would like to say a big thank you to all the people that shared music they found beautiful, quite a few tracks made it into this mix, as always in new contexts, different speeds, pitches and carefully folded with another track. Thank you for listening

In case you wondered, the art is a beautiful woodcut by Ukrainian-American artist Jacques Hnizdovsky (https://hnizdovsky.gallery). Hnizdovsky fled Ukraine in 1929 as a fourteen-year-old and spent most of his life in the US, becoming known for his woodcuts which often depicted flora and fauna, inspired by hours spent watching the animals at the Bronx zoo and Botanical Garden.

2017 Mix (Cosmo-vision)

For this episode, we are delighted to present you an original mix created for us by that extraordinary producer known as El Búho. His ability to blend natural tones and traditional South American motifs with electronic beat grew along the past 9 years and is now renowned. The resulting music creates magical soundscapes, it feels like having a night walk in a forest, the air is filled with the buzz of the creatures swarming around, fireflies sparkle in the dark. Although El Búho’s acoustics are painted in vivid colours, this mix is inspired by Winter. It all begun on a cloudy day in one of those “hobbit-esque” villages in Northern England. You can imagine him sitting by the window, watching the clouds being pushed on by the wind, while the fire burns slow in the stove. There, the artist found inspiration and recorded many of the impressions that we can now listen to on this beautiful mix. The rain tapping on the ground, jackdaws cawing, crunchy leaves being caressed by the wind… Those organic sounds, so familiar and yet so ethereal, they free your mind and might let you fly to imaginary locations. They're able to evoke bygone memories or make us dream of new places to explore. From there, the mix develops along the Winter and welcomes the upcoming Spring. So now open your heart, feel this delicate sound touching it and unleash your imagination to let your mind travel to your own peaceful place.

lost this cause of a generator cut-out while saving it.
I recorded it 5 days before it got lost once, heard it 100 times to see what i can change and work on and was very enthusiastic about it, since i lost my other sampler with the concert-projekts of "Lųnatak" (https://soundcloud.com/luunatak) and i got this sampler instead of.
My first liveset alone ever. 
Recorded, edited & produced with the Akai Force.
As i somehow really liked it, i wanted to spread it and give it as present to people enjoying it.
Next one will come!

„Wenn ich sage, das hier ist der Podcast meines Lebens, dann meine ich das auch ganz pathetisch so. Denn der Ort, wo ich herkomme - Rostock - der hat mich sehr geprägt. 
Seit über einem Jahr sammelte ich Tracks und Tonspuren von zuhause dafür und habe immer wieder arrangiert. 
Ich habe allein vier Hafenrundfahrten mitgeschnitten. 

Das hier sind also meine „Loveletters to the Baltic Sea“
Die vertretenen Künstler*innen kommen alle aus dem Ostseeraum Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
Mit einigen bin ich aufgewachsen, andere habe während meines Studiums kennengelernt, 
mit einigen habe ich mich übers Auflegen und Musik machen angefreundet, ein paar Bekanntschaften, 
andere wissen gar nix von mir und sind vielleicht überrascht, dass sie hier auftauchen. 
Ein Track ist auch ganz frisch von der Insel Rügen von Harro Triptrap feat. Judith van Waterkant. Yeah!
Der Podcast ist eine biographische Reise durch ein oft vergessenes, dünn besiedeltes Bundesland mit hoher Arbeitslosigkeit und dem größten Alkohol-pro-Kopf-Verbrauch der Republik (isso!), dessen größte Schönheit die Natur ist und wo ich eine wunderbare Kindheit verbracht habe.

Aber die Straßen waren schon öfter rough. 
Früh musste man sich hier als Jugendliche politisieren ohne überhaupt richtig verstanden zu haben, um was es eigentlich genau geht.
Früh wurde man gefragt „Bist du links oder rechts“ und mir wurde von älteren Freunden gesagt, dass ich links sagen soll und dann soll ich schnell rennen.
Denn manchmal bekam man dafür auf die Fresse. 
Neonazis mit Springerstiefeln gehörten in den Neunzigern ganz normal zum Stadtbild und ich will nicht wissen wieviele Kilometer Umwege ich damals genommen habe um denen nicht zu begegnen.
Umso mehr konnte man dann die Orte und Clubs wertschätzen, in welchen man sich frei bewegen konnte, wie das Jaz, die Stubnitz, welche mittlerweile im Hamburger Hafen liegt, oder die Fusion. 
Ich bin dankbar für alle Menschen, die solche Orte in der Region geschaffen und die diese mit ihrer Kunst lebendig gemacht haben und so Alternativen für Jugendliche zu „gelangweilt an der Bushaltestelle saufen“ gaben. Wie man richtig feiert und dabei aufeinander Acht gibt, habe ich früh gelernt.
Natürlich haben wir uns auch mal aufs Maul gelegt, aber wie oft tat mein Gesicht eher vom Lachen weh.

Was ich aus vollem Herzen sagen kann: diese Region wird immer mein zuhause sein, egal wo ich wohne. 
Ich bin schon öfter ein lauter und impulsiver Mensch, aber wenn mich eines zur Ruhe und Besonnenheit bringt, dann ist es die Ostsee.
Ich muss regelmäßig auf sie raufstarren und manchmal reinrennen, das macht mich glücklich und pegelt mich wieder ein.
Es ist schön zu wissen, dass meine Familie und Freunde mich dort immer mit offenen Armen und Wärme empfangen.
