My first full-length MIDI file, with roughly 12 tracks and 10,000 notes. I utilized Arachno Soundfont for the higher-quality MIDI sound, as I currently have no experience with VSTi nor the extra budget.

I had actually started this with no intention to actually get anywhere, as I was tired and just messing around to keep awake - then a few ideas later and it starts actually sounding a little bit good.


There is definitely room for improvement on this song, though, but first I felt as though it needed some kind of feedback.

Praseodymium

A track that could use a few changes (mainly near the beginning), but was mostly 'experimental' for myself. 

This was one of the three or so MIDI tracks I've been working on this month, though the other two probably won't make it.

Protactinium

Actually finishing the tracks I make may make them smaller, but at least they get done.

Also, I've now run out of this year-old pen drawn artwork. That means from now on I am stuck with pixel art.

Dysprosium

Another short track.

All of it is on a single MIDI track.

Sulfur Dibromide

I'd love to make some longer tracks, but experience is needed in order to do so. Until then, I'll have to be refining these little tracks until I start to do things right. 

The image is perhaps a bit too dark and doesn't match the track. Maybe I'll remember to replace it someday.

Monosaccharide

Yet another small refined Piano track, with yet more artwork that wasn't made for it.
On a side note, I discovered that bass guitars sound amazing with fresh strings. If you have a bass, and you have never changed the strings on it, go out and do yourself a favor and go to your music store and ask for them to put on a new set of strings. It may be expensive, but it's worth it.

Rhodium

There were a few things that I didn't like within the original Rhodium track, and those have been cleaned up a bit. The problems come from my lack of planning, so usually I don't know what kind of track I want something to be until I've heard it a certain number of times. Anyways, here's a more fixed up track.
For upcoming MIDI news, I've found a couple of rather good Synth VSTi's for Reaper (new DAW). Problem is, since everything I am finding is old freeware plugins it's been a buggy ride.

Rhodium (V1.1)

A bit of a slower one, but still a bit short.

As of late, I've been spending way too much time with Guitar Amp VSTs. It will be a while before anything is released though regarding guitar, as I am still technically before the one year mark of playing the instrument.

Magnesium Diboride

One of the rare cases where the MIDI Editor I use starts messing up the MIDI file, and further progress upon it will probably end up in file corruption or crashing. The only misplaced note, at the very least, is a "non-existent" note of sorts that is heard at the end of the clip.

Because of this sudden instability in an otherwise stable MIDI file, naming it after an unstable isotope of a Noble gas seems to fit (kind of).

Neon-24

I've tried minimizing the amount of which I repeat the same part of a song, and this is the result. 

Also, I've moved onto a real scale. Rhodium (along with everything since it) has been written almost entirely in sharps and flats, for better or worse. This one is now in C Major, a rather basic scale, but it works.

Caesium

There is not much reason to releasing this other than because I feel proud of it. It's no self-achievement for playing, but the quality of the mixing is spectacular compared to where I was a month ago.
By other people's standards, this is probably a step backwards, but it is definitely a step in the right direction for myself. I still have a ways forward, though, until I hit the best one can do with a computer and a rocksmith cable.

Guitar Test #2

As development of this is taking too long, I've decided to split this into parts. This part, in its current state, has already existed for a month or so, but the following segments are far from complete. This part is certainly not without flaws, but I rather much like were it is at.

Part 2 is probably going to be a few months away. The actual band that I forget I am in has now decided to get serious about making music, and I've got a bit to catch up on in German. In order to bide time, I'll probably release some older MIDI recordings I have lying around.

Iridium Tetraflouride, Part 1

A novice musician with basic understandings of music theory, a year of guitar experience, and 15 months or so of MIDI making.
Currently I do not expect anything I release to be very well received, nor to have a good production value, as I lack a great deal of experience and knowledge when it comes to producing music. It's mostly been a "figure out for myself" sort of thing.

I tend to listen to music for the instrumental performance over lyrical performance. I have a somewhat varied taste, though I mainly tend to stick towards heavier styles of music such as Metal.
