Seems to me that it is insane from the beginning to the end. I was a big fan of Christian Vander’s band Magma when I was, say, sixteen to twenty. In particular, I loved the Magma Live album released in 1975, and I still like it for the energy it conveys. What is really inept, as I see it today, are Vander’s adolescent fantasies of a world that needs purification by destruction, and the sectarian, Stargate-like imagery surrounding his core band. An old youtube clip (Magma Discorama, French TV, June 29th 1970) shows him in an involuntary remake of Charlie Chaplin’s Hynkel speech in The Great Dictator. This silliness might be excusable if Vander had a healthy amount of self-irony. But he is dead serious about his worth and standing in today’s music, when in fact much of what Magma does is musical art brut (see for instance the extensive use of ostinati and parallel chords).

Experimental sounds from the Czech underground: Mixed by Ancestral Vision

Дослідження звуку 01- це аудіальний перформанс з використанням техніки польового запису. Ми запропонували аудиторії передивитися межі експериментальної музики і розібрали тему кастомізації саунду. 28 слухачів обрали один з наданих музичних інструменті/побутових речей і вилучили з нього звук, який був записан на рекордер. Ці семпли були трансформовані в лайв при використанні дігітальної луни. Також, будь-хто з аудиторії міг написати текст, що виводився на екран проектором. Цей текст виконувався вокально перформеркою. Таким чином, навички двох артистів наповнились сенсами і звуками, які продукувало 28 людей.

Once mixed under a sunshiny roof in Cologne, now developed in a snugly room in Berlin: 150 Session has no clue what to do, missed all goals and comes around from all directions. ML's worldly sets are prepared spontaneously, marrying avant-electronics with foretime chants, odd dance emotions, man-made minimal tones, psychedelic fuzz and some neon light jazz. No country, no flag – outernational without a cause!
