Rider is a very special track to me, it is anchored to my very roots, my love for hip hop music from the west coast! I have spent countless hours in my youth listening to Dre’s classics among others… 
Working on this track, trying to mix a modern trap feeling, with those super autotuned vocals I love, with all those typical, organic, west side instruments like the piano, guitar and bass… has been real fun and games.
I couldn’t find better partners than @FangTheGreat and Only, and my good friend Leopold Guy to achieve this mission. 
It is truly a blessing having Fang on that song for he is to me one of the best rappers of the new generation.

After a year break, I am back. The Zapapaya has arrived.
Many of you may have heard that word before, but what does "zapapaya" mean? It's a cry of joy, a cry from the heart, a victory roar! For me its a whole new musical chapter. A return to my roots, my latin roots.

Last year at this very period, I went to Cuba and Colombia for 2 months, seeking zapapaya, seeking salsa and son cubano. I met beautiful and talented people all along the road. I recorded more than 20 songs, and today a year later the loop is closed. I have explored many new horizons, attempted many new blends, and distilled many spirits.

Mandinga is the first track of a long serie of songs. It's a tribute to Buena Vista Social Club and the old cuban soneros. It's the first remix of a serie I called the "Zapapaya Social Club".

Nobody better than my friend Carlos Napoles to reinterpret that classic with me.
A big shout out to his son Osmel Napoles for playing the congas and bongos.
And a very special thanks to Adele Sautereau for giving a face to my music with her wonderful artwork. She is gonna be working with me on the whole project.
Last but non the least, thanks to Laury Perez for the choirs, and the continued support along this journey.

After Mandinga, here is my reinterpretation of one of the most popular cuban songs, "El Carretero", originally composed by Guillermo Portabales and made famous by Eliades Ochoa in the Buena Vista Social Club.

Inspired by my trip to Cuba, the landscapes of Viñales and it's rural culture. I wanted to mix the traditional Congas and Bongos with heavy 808 bass and Moombahton Drums. No one better than my friend Carlos Napoles to sing this beautiful, popular hymn from his native country.

Big shout out to Adele Sautereau for the wonderful artwork, once again she instantly captured the essence of the music, "porque el campo es el eden, mas lindo del mundo entero".

"Candela" originally composed by Faustino Oramas, and made famous by Ibrahim Ferrer in the Buena Vista Social Club, is one of the most emblematic songs of the Cuban culture.

I wanted to make a 2.0 version of Candela, turn up, zapapaya, heavy 808s, trap and moombahton. The perfect mix of the old and new El Speaker. 
My trip to cuba really inspired me, it’s the reason I wanted to dedicate a full EP to the Cuban music and culture. For people to remember forever that beautiful legacy. Honor the ancients and tease the youth, when the old school meets the new school, that became my Mantra.

I hope you’ll like those heavy cuban vibes and help me spread the zapapaya all around the world. Let light up the fucking dancefloor!

My zapapayaaaaaaaaas I am glad to give you  "CAMINALO", the first track of my album "Zapapaya Monkeyz". 

A voyage between salsa and trap music. Future Salsa like I like to call it.

I met Luis Ibarra during my trip to Colombia and Cuba last year. He was singing in the streets of the beautiful city of Cartagena, my hometown. I instantly fell in love with his style and needed to go to the studio with him. A few hours later Caminalo was born. Street anthem of Cartagena, festive, crazy and psychotic at the same time, "de los communeros pal mundo".

Chopped piano, 808's, big brass, and psychotic vocal chops, the perfect signature sound.

I want to thank all the people that helped me on the way : Leopold Guy, Gregory Kasparian and Carlos Napoles.

Choco Choco is a very special song to me, because I met my soulmate and partner in crime @mimaa_lp with this song. 🖤❤
A very good friend of mine (Besar Likaj) told me 3 years ago : "I have a latin friend she is crazy as fuck, you have to do a song with her!" 🔥😈👩🏻
I was like let's do this, and we started a studio session the 3 of us. Choco Choco was born. From there we started a very long journey with MIMAA, we made many songs, we bonded, we travelled to Cuba and Colombia to make music. 🇨🇺🇨🇴☀🍹
3 years later we took a moment to sit back and watch all the music we made together and we were like "ok what should we release now?" 🤔
I had invited my brother Guydo on this track, which he killed! Im such a fan of his style and flow, and like me he is half latin and half dutch. 🔥🔥
So yeah Choco Choco was a good choice for our first collab since its our very first track together as well. You will hear more from us in the future, we have many things in store, this is just the beginning. 
I hope y'all like those cuban and summer vibes. I know we are going through a rough time on a global scale with this quarantine situation. I hope this will make you travel and appreciate the moment! Dounya is a conversation between the Afro-Colombian culture and the Senegalese culture. 
Where folkloric Colombian percussions (tambora, alegre, maracas) and Gaita (Colombian flute) meet modern and experimental, deep Afro Trap vibes. Dounya is a bridge between tradition and innovation, old school and new school. Where acoustic meets electronic, where analog meets digital, where Singers meet DJs. Dounya, "Life" in Senegalese (Wolof), is an invitation to celebrate the sacred and the spiritual.

I feel blessed for being able to work with such material, it has been a real honor and tribute to Colombia and Africa. A trip I couldn’t have taken without my wonderful partners Mots Linary, Makhou, Pao Barreto & Jehisson Ivan Santacruz.
