A New Beginning

When I first heard Lungi dance from the movie Chennai express, it's incredible peppy catchiness only meant one obvious thing - someone needed to make a Western classical remix version. Imagine frilly dresses, wigs, Austrian nobility and state-of-the-art Erode lungis. 

The Violin and Cello were recorded on the really impressive Yeti Blue microphone, which is so sensitive that if you listen really hard, you can occasionally hear the pigeon on my window sill making enquiries about the local availability of pretty single pigeonesses. 

In addition to the tracks I recorded on my instruments, some software layers were used to expand the soundscape to do justice to this most excellent song.

(Somewhere in time, I found myself at an upscale indoor mall Opera House with an elegant Opera chamber built-in! My usual DJ deck setup on stage and was ready to turn opera house into rave festival! Disruptively, my beloved Antonín Dvořák said I gotta keep my cool! I guess he meant this planet is already full of world #1 DJs and we can't afford having another one! Centuries have passed by and till this day, I still don't get WTF did he mean! 😉 Can't take anything seriously including the highly anticipated world renowned Plandemic) 😉

After years of listening to mixed cds commercially released by mainstream labels, extremely disappointed, frustrated with how those mixes were built! Mainstream labels often promote what they're trying to sell rather than promoting the artists, their real talents & skills! Finally, I started my own small scale mixing production with countless vinyls mixed compilations produced in between 1999 to 2005 based on the principle of "quality and not quantity"! All those mixes previously produced mainly for my music reference & unconditionally shared them with those who truly love the music and not the hype! Thousands of demo mixed CDs handed out to clubbers, trance enthusiasts locally offline and via underground files sharing networks prior SoundCloud debuted in 2008! Despite any disagreement I might have with SoundCloud about their policy, I am grateful to be part of this community & humbly honored to be with all of you as your friend, fan & supporter! Certainly, I am not here to become world number one dj/producer! Little too old and too busy for that anyway! 😉

Several different versions of my upcoming trance mixes have been played in my head for a while...etc, Like Antonin Dvorák & any other composers I've loved & inspired by, I can't work unless I'm inspired! In my case, plenty of inspiration, ideas but currently lack of motivation to complete the mix! Perhaps I should get off my lazy arse so I can finish this unfinished trance mix! 😉

Inspired by the incredible images captured by the Hubble Space Telescope, this song is an experimental exploration into sonic elements representing the infinite wonder of the universe.  With Prophet 600 Synth, Ibanez SR-500 Bass, Wind Chimes, Chinese Healing Gong, and Whispered Vocals, it's a fusion of elements both scientific and spiritual.

Over the years, backward messages in songs, whether intentional or imaginary, have been pointed to by certain "religious" folks as "proving" these songs, and perhaps any music of that same genre, to be "satanic".  I wonder what these people might think of my use of scripture presented in this form.  It's my opinion that backmasking is simply an artistic tool and certainly not inherently "evil".  If satanic messages recorded backward are super bad, then scripture recorded backward must be super blessed.  Why not use this tool to introduce light into a realm cursed with darkness?

For this particular song, it provided a way for uniquely encoding scripture to complement the atmosphere of the music, adding important spiritual elements to my sonic tribute to God's wondrous creation we call the universe.  There I go again, breaking the "rules".  Feel free to message me if you'd like to express your opinion on the subject.  

I prefer to think of these messages as an auditory journey back in time, much like when we peer into a telescope and see perpetually deeper into the past.  The segment containing frontward lyrics features a paraphrased quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson, which I discovered on page 129 of the spectacular picture book "Hubble : Imaging Space and Time".
