Born in Baltimore, Maryland in a family that was devoted to church, worship and music, e.lamont  grew up singing and surrounded by the music of the church. That strict upbringing didn’t include ‘secular’ or ‘popular music.’ It wasn’t until his late teens that e.lamont  would begin to seek more diverse musical expressions. “I found myself enlightened by the vast genres of music and the richness of many other styles,” he says.  “Nevertheless, I was always drawn back to the church and the message of hope that gospel music brings.”

His classical training at Morgan State University and his professional debut in gospel music as founding President of Fred Hammond’s Radical For Christ, served to ignite a spark for performing and writing. In the nearly two decades since then, e.lamont  has worked as a background singer and featured soloist with awarding artists including Yolanda Adams, Fred Hammond, Commissioned, Lexi, and Angelo & Veronica.

Next year, will mark the release of his first solo EP, e.lamont : life and worship Part 1.  He explains the heart behind his artistry: “I believe that my music is an expression of the vow I made to God to be honest with myself and with everyone around me and to let my light shine both in life and worship.”
