Biography:
The sound of Xyiz is originally influenced by the dry, brute and urban sound of the early days of dub techno in germany. Robert aka Xyiz grew up in a small town in the middle of Germany. After initially playing guitar in a young punk rock band, he started discovering electronic music production at 16 and quickly began to develop a passion for experimental sound design and groovy rhythms. At the age of 17 he also started djing on vinyl, at that time still in the genre of DrumʼnʼBass. In 2016 he finally found a genre which is very open to atmospheric and interesting but still danceable rhythms and sound design, that’s when he started producing dub techno and related styles. He startet releasing EPs on the Label Kräuterbutter Kollektiv from Dresden (DE) followed by single Tracks on Pragmat Records and Slope Point where he lately released his first EP for the Label. After a long break from playing vinyl, he lately started collecting in the rhythmic and raw styles of Dub- and Deep Techno.

We are happy to announce the forthcoming vinyl release of 'Last Transmissions From Jevvers', the latest release from UK based musician Caldera. This evocative collection was recorded between 2018 and 2024 in Caldera’s home and studio at Jevvers, Brighton, a creative space surrounded by a tranquil grove that deeply influenced the EP's nature-inspired sound.

The record stands as a heartfelt farewell to both the physical studio and the vibrant community that shaped the Artist's journey in the past 9 years. Each track resonates with the organic atmosphere of the studio’s unique setting, offering listeners a glimpse into Caldera's creative sanctuary. Notably, the EP features a collaboration with queniv, developed remotely in early 2021 during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite the challenges of lockdown, the Artists exchanged stems and ideas online, forging a connection that transcended borders and restrictions.

4. Böhm - Exploration

Everything started when we heard The Torrent of Words by Steppin' Wolf on Codek Records. The track had such a raw and gripping intensity, we were immediately drawn in. We reached out to the artist right away and invited him to record a podcast for our main series.

Along with the podcast, Aljoscha (this time using the alias AJO) sent us a playlist of demo tracks. The quality was outstanding. We chose three of them and decided to build a release around those tracks, inviting remixes for each. That’s how the Maeng Da EP was born.

Later on, Aljoscha delivered a mix for our Histoires de Piscine series — this time as AJO, since the first mix he did for us was under Steppin' Wolf. The set was packed with his own productions, and a few of the tracks appeared under yet another alias: Kalocain. The music under this name had a different edge — faster, sharper, and full of character. We asked if he had more unreleased material as Kalocain.

A few months later, he sent us a folder of tracks — all unreleased, all under the Kalocain alias. From the first listen, it felt right. The music spoke to us clearly, and it didn’t take long to decide. We signed four originals for what would become our first vinyl release.

To celebrate, we hosted a launch party at Opium Club in Vilnius. 

This year, Aljoscha returned to the catalogue once again as AJO. He’s a thoughtful, precise artist with excellent taste, and we’re genuinely grateful for the trust he places in us. It’s a pleasure to support and release his work.

He’s been featured twice already in our Unreleased Territory series, and after everything we’ve built together, it was only natural he’d be part of the sixth edition too.

Inner Zone returns to space•lab with an immersive EP exploring the meeting point of deep techno and progressive minimalism, shadowy rhythms and spatial resonance. 

Folded Realm opens the release with a hypnotic pulse, drawing from the darker edges of the Inner Zone sound with precision and restraint. Goa’s Kohra steps in on remix duties, transforming the original into a tunnelling techno weapon — dense, focused, and primed for the floor.

Spiral Form is a slow-burn evolution, unfolding in layers of submerged textures and flickering synth work. Closing the EP, Fallout breaks formation with a menacing, breakbeat-driven excursion through scorched sonic terrain.

Following the reissue of his debut album Dispatches, Field Records is proud to return to the seminal work of Mike Parker with an overview of his releases on Prologue — a truly original strain of steely, hypnotic techno that has touched upon many different waves within the wider scene. 

Having pioneered a hard-edged, reductionist style via his Geophone label since the mid-90s, around 2010 Mike Parker found himself at the vanguard of an emergent sound alongside artists like Donato Dozzy and Cio D'or exploring the possibilities of immersive, profoundly transcendental club music. The Prologue label came to define this cult zeitgeist, where reduction and repetition took on a truly psychedelic quality and the subtle details made all the difference. It ran from 2008 to 2015, laying the foundations for the deep techno sound that remains a vital, evolving subculture in the present moment. 

From Parker's first appearance on Prologue with the Subterranean Liquid EP in 2011 through to the Lustrations LP in 2013, he delivered some of the most incisive music of his accomplished career — teased-out rhythms carrying exquisitely engineered textures veering from the subliminal to the visceral, locked into endless, cyclical oblivion and maintaining a stern, machinist veneer.  This collection on Field Records combs through Parker's Prologue output and makes a considered selection, gathering key pieces from the first two EPs alongside six of the album tracks on a triple vinyl pressing, alongside a further eight cuts on the expanded digital edition.

Not just a straight-forward reissue, consider Epilogue a thoughtful reframing of a key point in Mike Parker's stellar career. In every exacting pulse, every inch of tacit spatial design, it's the work of an expert sculpting a sound which remains influential in the here and now.
