ELATRASI's debut single 'Heavy' is a cinematic toned track with vintage Arabic violins, epic percussion and anthemic vocals. It touches upon the concept that just because we seem to have it all together, it doesn't mean that we aren't struggling in silence or that what we are carrying isn't debilitating or heavy.

Inspired from this global pandemic, ELATRASI returns with her sophomore single 'Immunity' – an atmospheric cinematic ballad with marching percussion, ethereal orchestral strings and emotive vocals - a reflective metaphor of resilience, empowerment and rising up against our own demons as a chronic and mental health survivor.

ELATRASI is a British-Moroccan female multidisciplinary artist, self-taught pianist and songstress based in Hertfordshire, England. Her introspective lyricism roots from the raw vulnerabilities of transforming pain into power and purpose. Inspired from her North African-Arab heritage, as well as her undeniable intrigue for uplifting, dramatic and ethereal sounds, ELATRASI’s anthems are best described as orchestral pop embraced with harmonic melodies and atmospheric cinematic soundscapes.
 
Her debut single 'Heavy' garnered the attention and support from the likes of CLOUT, Earmilk, Noctis Mag, LOCK, Amazing Radio, Soho Radio London and AAAZT Radio (Arab-Fusion Artist of the Week). ‘Heavy’ was also awarded Honourable Mention at Nashville's Unsigned Only Music Competition 2021 (Screenshot category), named winner of the InterContinental Music Awards 2021 (Best of Europe - Ballard) and selected semi-finalist for the 2020 International Songwriting Competition (Performance category) - the biggest and most competitive songwriting contest in the world. In addition, 'Heavy' has currently achieved 5 star semi-finals at the UK Songwriting Contest (Singer-Songwriter and Open) and International Songwriting Competition, as well as Top 10 Finalist for the World Songwriting Awards Summer 2021 (Best World Music). She is currently working on her debut EP project and despite being early in her career, she is determined to develop her artistry with a clear direction towards the publishing and sync world of music.

Receiving a late neurodivergent diagnosis, ELATRASI wanted to shine as a beacon of hope and celebrate her identity as a neurodivergent and invisibly disabled woman. Strength and confidence underpin this release as she is determined to shine visibly for those who often feel unseen, unheard or have ever felt the need to hide their true selves away.

Lighthouse has already been supported by Kerrie Cosh on BBC Introducing Northampton - comparing her voice to the comfort of London Grammar and Florence - as well as features from HOE.ZINE, BUZZ Music LA and playlist support by The Line of Best Fit. ELATRASI is preparing her live orchestra band for her first future showcase at Sofar Sounds. She was recently invited to Abbey Road Studios who took notice of Lighthouse. ELATRASI dreams to make music for sync, film and tv.

Since her debut release ‘Heavy’ in 2021 she has garnered the attention of major music publications from the likes of Noctis, EARMILK and CLOUT, celebrated as ‘One To Watch’ from BBC Introducing and received international recognition as an award-winning songwriter.

The past year has seen ELATRASI develop her creative practice with industry support from Youth Music, Help Musicians, The Ivors Academy, Wigmore Hall and Abbey Roads Studios, as well as performing the National Anthem for the Moroccan Embassy. 

Her journey as an artist has been unconventional, with her release of Lighthouse marking two years since a life-changing and delayed diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder and ADHD. Time in self-reflection and songwriting has helped her to give herself permission to process, grieve and re-discover her identity as a neurodivergent woman. Continuing on her path she wants to embrace the world and inspire a challenge - ‘sail against the tide and find peace within the storm.’
