He is mysterious, though he has been active in the scene for over a decade now. Peder Mannerfelt is many things and does not consign to being labeled or categorized. Tirelessly seeking to break down the rigid boundaries that seemingly define the genre, Mannerfelt explores the obscure realms on the periphery. His latest explorations have led him towards the experimental, as well as towards a seemingly odd fusion of techno-pop (together with Pär Grindvik), which even if only for its eccentricity demands attention and consideration. The bulk of his output is handled by his own platform Peder Mannerfelt Produktions, which we can only recommend checking out for those who dare to wander off the beaten path.

Our last DSS of 2023 comes from the Belgian city of Antwerp. Yogg is known for his unique sound design, impact cuts of body-slamming techno with deep synths and sleek rhythms. He released on various labels such as Non Series, Illegal Alien Records, 30D Records, Counterchange, and others.

For DSS 079, he took a different approach, taking down the tempo and starting with some dub related tracks, building towards UK influenced sound to conclude the mix with trippy and breaky techno.

After nearly a decade of experimentation in electronic music, Leeds/London-based Kessie has developed a distinct sound. Being hard of hearing, Kessie’s relationship with audio is a physical and vibrational one, reflected in her thumping off-kilter selections and intricate mixing. After a 12-months which has seen her play at Fold, Open Ground, Berghain and many more of Europe’s respectable clubs, expect to see Kessie’s penchant for the raw and cathartic in a dark room near you soon.
For now, get lost in this 1 hour mix, where Kessie accelerates to peak time mode with the use of pounding basslines and playful grooves hoping to trip you up every now and again.
