hey friends - summer is returning to the city and i felt the need to express the feeling of getting the full sunkissed - get wasted - beam me to 2000s loveparade - vibe. this vinyl only mix contains some classic tribal techno, proto-Trance, some speedgarage kicks and a loveletter to greasy leather. As a young hardcore-punk teen i often took my grandmas car to go to Berlin.
For hardcore shows, raves and other fun stuff. I had to take the Autobahn 2 which has a strange and mysterious vibe. it was a former transit road connecting the GDR and West-Berlin. the car had a tape deck. Soundtrack of these rides were my fathers rave mixtapes from the 90s. As I got older and into techno & records i always wanted to do some kind of a mixtape myself. a haunting piece of techno and house. For driving east german transit roads lol - #vinylonly

The New York City Mixtape

Berlin-based Ele spent his childhood surrounded by techno records but at first didn’t had interest in them. Promos, Testpresses and so called “DJ-Copies” that belonged to his father. His father was a fierce Dj in the late GDR and excited about the new sound of Techno and House that came with the unification of Germany. He shared all his love for electronic music with little Ele who eventually become interested in deejaying himself. With a full blown addiction for discogs he geared up some fine accelerated machine funk and is happy to put some dusty techno, electro and house on the platter. Besides that he is part of the berlin-based non-profit collective @Movement13. They are into doing community kitchens, raves and other fun events that raise money for people and organisations in need.

This week Bruecke invites Berlin based Ele, part of the non-profit collective Movement13 (@movement13). While he spent his childhood surrounded by techno records, he wasn't interested in them initially. Promos, test presses and so called “DJ copies” belonged to his father, a DJ in the late GDR, excited about the new sound of techno and house that came with the unification of Germany. He shared all his love for electronic music with little Ele, who eventually became interested in deejaying himself. 

In his words "a shitload of years and hours spent at the decks later" we fast forward to today - Ele is happy to contribute a vinyl only mix to our series. It is a small adventure through some older cuts from Primate Records, Player, Gecko, Djax-Up Beats and some recent stuff from the likes of James Ruskin, Zenker Brothers and Perm.
