Deep Tech

Harvey’s highly anticipated single starts with the title track ‘Lost’ that comprises of a catchy vocal hook and rhythmic synth stabs to set the mood. This is layered over a straight, serious beat that has lots of energy and grit to make any speaker stack shake. ‘Find My Mind’ uses a mixture of reversed and straight hats to create a funky groove that is sprinkled with hypnotic synth stabs and a mesmerising vocal. ‘Hard To See’ uses a funky sub bass in combination with some swinging drums to create a groove that will rattle the speakers and bring the house down.

<p>MAAE comes at you with three attacks, and the title track is a stomping affair, complete with sounds nodding to the old school, streamlined synthesizers and a militant stab that clears everything in its way.&nbsp; &#8220;Right Code&#8221; takes a more subliminal route as mutating pads and ethereal vocals shift to center stage, while the steamrolling drums propel things to the next level.&nbsp; The EP closes with the even more esoteric &#8220;Take Your Bag&#8221;, where looped-out bleeps and dark, melodic overtones all come together to form a spooky vibe with the distressed synths barely being contained in the production confines.</p>

The label Fartlek Rec. was born from Luca Gaeta and Massimiliano Ruggiero's idea, two young italian djs with the idea to make their mark in the world of the electronic music. The label want to give birth to a series of innovative productions and characterized by a style of original techno and continously evolving but that also takes inspiration from everything that has been done before. What show that are the first releases entrusted to emerging artists and definitely comparable to the underground scene as: Urban, Plural and Joton.
Evolve means first having itself a ductil nature, able to accommodate any changes, the goal is then to be able to conceive new day after day to reach a full understanding of a genre that has surprised in its main point of attraction.

October 2017 brings the next big release from Christian Smith, with his album project Synergy. Compiled of 12 original tracks, the album is a selection of collaborations he has produced on the road in studios in New York, Brazil, Tokyo, Germany, and Barcelona.
Tronic drip fed fans with two releases, first was Neon Jungle a groovy, vocal driven, funk inspired EP produced with house Legend Harry Romero, and the second a pummeling growler of an EP The Runner with Brazilian techno king Victor Ruiz. 
Christian brought together legends in the industry with John Selway and Harry Romero on this LP, along with current techno favorites Victor Ruiz and Wehbba, not forgetting some new stars on the rise with German artist 2pole and Drunken Kong, a duo from Tokyo taking the techno world by storm with their latest debut album released on Tronic earlier this year.
A special track to note is Jackin with John Selway. Christian and Johns bootleg Krispy Kranz taken from Laurent Garniers classic Crispy Bacon was a smash hit back in 2004, however, the duo has been collaborating together on endless projects since 2000 and have reunited especially for this trance inspired beat.
The album has something for everyone, variation is key here, with each track very different in its production and inspiration. Wehbba and Romero really bring some electro funkiness into the mix, whilst 2Pole and Victor Ruiz keep it dark with peak time, late night chugging techno. And finally, Drunken Kong deliver an industrial, minimal track throwing an unexpected but welcome addition to the 12 track innovative album.

The new Intec release is from British born Rebecca Godfrey who is better known to Techno fans as BEC via her seminal releases on Pan-Pots label Second State. Now living in Berlin, BEC has received critical acclaim from publications like Pulse Magazine who recently listed her alongside the likes of Helena Hauff, Dasha Rush and Rebekah as one of The Underground's 10 Leading Ladies. BEC has a great future ahead as she continues to make waves and plays gigs everywhere from London to Hong Kong. Including a release on Hydrozoa this is only her second release outside of Second State, and Intec are honoured to welcome her to the family. Starting with pulsating synths "Forwards" builds with tightly sequenced percussion. The lead synths uplifting notation is offset by eerie bass stabs, and these contrasting moods combine to create captivating tension. Stripped back with subtlety at its core, this techno track takes control without you even knowing it's got you under its spell. Track two "Motion" has a clatter of metallic claps and morphing synths that ripple and shimmer. Understated with a hypnotic groove, the mechanical rhythms flow with precision engineering and attention to detail. Like lemon sorbet, this is the perfect palette cleaner, but can also be served as a bitter sweet dessert.
