Revered live duo act Channel X showcase their acuminated production skills with their latest output. Aptly entitled 'X', the new EP marks a decade of the Berliners leaving their mark on the tech house scene. Opening track 'Out of control' draws you in immediately with its metallic percussion subdued by grave synths and deep horns, while the whispered, almost non-existent vocal sample adds to its overall deep and dark aesthetic. With its rolling bass-line ,"Refugia” seems to be the perfect club follow-up to ease the built-up rhythmic tension, while the Australian artist Uone gives the track an even lighter, energetic makeover. Despite its name, "Glowing" takes us on a dungeon ride by means of heavy hitting percussion, whilst Audiojack pump it with a dose of high-pitched fidgety synths for their killer remix.

Channel X - Out Of Control [Full Track]

It was in 2014 when a mutual friend introduced me to Victor Ruiz while he was staying here in Berlin. I invited Victor to my studio where we had a fantastic session, playing our music to each other, listening to stuff we like and simply talkin and connecting. Since then, we became close friends as well as starting to work together. Victor has released two outstanding EPs on Electric Ballroom by now. This summer we met again and recorded three tracks. The result is our first joint EP, of which I am very proud. (Thomas Schumacher, November 2015)

2015 saw Stephan Bodzin release his second full length, “Powers of Ten”, as well as a new single on DJ Tennis’ and Tale of Us’ taste making label Life and Death. The album is another magical piece of work that focuses on melody and rhythm, on fat bass and vivid sound design and is a truly captivating journey through the mind, music, body and soul of one of dance music’s truly modern greats. After its release, a great team of modern music makers was enlisted to remix tracks from it: Maceo Plex & Shall Ochin, Fur Coat, Extrawelt, long time musical sparring partner Marc Romboy, Pan-Pot, Max Cooper, Agents of Time, Dominik Eulberg and many more all contributed to what is an essential collection. With a remix of ‘Sleepless’, a Pan-Pot track from their latest album, Stephan Bodzin closed the latest chapter of 2015 in what has been an exhilarating musical journey in his capable and creative hands.

Hamburg based producer Hatzler’s EP is crafted to keep the dancefloor moving, with two original tracks and two remixes. ‘SkyT’ unfolds with a rolling groove that ascends abruptly into a throbbing, trance-inducing piece peppered with cavernous synth pads. ‘KreaT’ lays down hard hitting thumps from the get-go, doling out an undulating synth with whirring atmospherics. It’s these whirs that end up combining harmoniously with the swirling synth hook, leading to a highly anticipated peak time release. For his ‘SkyT’ remix, Sian amps up the theatrics, giving the track a dramatic dimension by infusing it with spacious reverb. Where Sian went down a more theatrical avenue, Ruiz plays down the emotion.  Victor Ruiz’ take on ‘SkyT’ is a more stripped down approach, minimizing the elements and keeping the focus on the rolling bassline.

Senso boss Oliver Huntemann first released the original version of Magnet in 2011 as a part of his Paranoia LP on Ideal Audio. A few years later, Brazil’s leading underground techno light Victor Ruiz reworked the track into an unofficial bootleg, which since had been rinsed by Ruiz, Huntemann and a slew of top DJs around the world. Such was its effect on the dance-floor, it’s now finally receiving an official release via Senso in a slightly updated version. The track itself is a lesson in tough, driving techno - unrelenting in its mission, yet infused with layers of subtlety and deeply funky beeps, squelches and effects. It’s a machine-funk monster, and it’s easy to see why the bootleg clocked up over 225,000 listens on Soundcloud.

Do you believe in conincidences?

I don’t - anymore. I used to believe in conincidences but I’ve learned that everything happens for a reason. And that everything in life happens for you, not to you.

So, I have been busying myself with the idea of an remix album of classic tracks of mine for quite some time. But I struggled with the selection of tracks and which remix artist to pair with which track.  Until certain people entered my life. Some of them I only „met“ through their music on social media and never in person, others I met briefly, like in a car to a festival and some I started to hang out with and they became real life friends. All of these people connect with my music and I feel drawn to their music and in many ways we insprire each other.  As a natural result this remix EP took shape and I am excited to present it to you. The record contains four remixes of tracks from my back catalogue that cover a period of 20 (!) years, from my early days on Bush in the mid 90s to my first label Spiel-Zeug Schallplatten in the 00`s up until now, where I run Electric Ballroom from Berlin. Edu Imbernon's Eklektisch welcomes Rafael Cerato (Diynamic, Suara, Stil Vor Talent) back to the family this October and he's joined by two in-form remixers in Polymath founder Third Son and São Paulo titan Victor Ruiz. Brazilian producer Ruiz turns in a monster rework of 'Mirrors Of Life', he's crafted a nine minute epic, which builds from a brooding intro to an arpeggiator-laden crescendo around the six minute mark. He closes with an uplifting synth-driven section that is sure to raise many a roof.  It's a journey in the true sense of the word. Check it out only on When We Dip today!

Premiere: Rafael Cerato - Mirrors Of Life (Victor Ruiz Remix) [Eklektisch]

Whyt Noyz is one of the most assured techno talents of the day and here he appears on Pig & Dan's fast rising label Elevate with two more tracks that prove exactly why. 

Now less mechanical and with more soul, Whyt Noyz has evolved from a duo into a solo project with David Sidley leading the charge. With releases on seminal labels such as Minus, SCI+TEC and Bedrock behind him along with a much lauded hybrid DJ / live show David is proving to be one of the most exciting new talents in techno.

Up today is our Debut Transmission 'The Gods Clap', a brooding main room techno roller with fat, well swung drums and the sort of frazzled synths that really burrow deep into your brain. Russian Doll then builds the pressure in spooky, rubbery loops and dark vocals and sweeps you up and carries you away in its irresistible groove. Full of atmosphere and space, it is a real standout cut.

On his sixth album, The Arc of Tension, the Berlin based DJ, label owner and producer OLIVER KOLETZKI yet again presents his remarkable vision of contemporary electronic music, while he assumes the role of a storyteller. The Arc of Tension speaks to its listener as a singular, self contained work, which communicates by way of its natural flow and arc of suspense. The latter is mirrored not only in the multifarious narrative of the actual album, but can also be understood as evidence for its creator's long musical history. 'Planetarium' exemplifies, moreover, that a fusion of delicate musicality and sheer force leads to impressively ecstatic results.
