Improvisation is the key when it comes to Amsterdam born and bred electronic duo Juju and Jordash, who make music with as much energy as their live show. Having just released their incredible third album, Clean Cut through Dutch techno house Dekmantel, the pair share a little something special to let loose to. 

"These are two segments from recent live improvised Juju & Jordash club shows. First chunk was recorded at a super famous Berlin club and the second segment is from the Dekmantel UFO ADE night in Amsterdam. Our live shows are completely improvised. We plug in a bunch of Synths, Drum machines, a guitar and a mic, and just jam away with the dancers. Nothing pre prepared except our mind-set.

I guess getting loose is what we are trying to do on stage and what we would like dancers in the clubs to do. Just feel some stuff and let loose!"

St Petersburg's bubbling scene was thrust into HD light when we made our first outing there back in October; and Roots United's Nocow set was truly the pick of the local litter. RUR001, the crew's inaugural physical release (out soon!), is a belting Nocow six-tracker, thrumming with insistent energy and a deep, seesawing lead. First set upon the airwaves by George Fitzgerald last night, Tom Demac’s edit of “Guts” is mean, menacing and all kinds of unsettling. Gazelle Twin’s original - off The Quietus’ album of 2014, fact fans - is torn asunder. Her vocals devolve into snatches and snarls, while a curdled acid lines snakes through the original rhythm, dissolving the, ahem, guts of the track to reveal a low rumbling tone that permeates the entire second half.

Hypercolour are letting this one loose on Feb 9th. Don’t sleep (ever again).

Nobody knew too much about Krywald & Farrer when their email landed in our Gmail accounts late earlier this month. They’ve earned their stripes, yes. Their residencies at a number of London’s clubs tell us that story. But today’s debut tells us that they clearly just get a kick out of smushing genres together.

“The People’s Asafo” sees warm house textures flirt with an infusion of Ghanaian beatwork for eight minutes. A coaxing leg-shaker if there ever was one. It arrives on March 30th (via Silver Bear Recordings) and backed by B-side “He’s The Chief” which continues the afrocentric theme with gusto.

When your first release comes with a Heinrich Mueller remix, your releases come on stunningly-designed heavyweight clear vinyl, your website has a moving starscape, and you release tracks like this one  from Tblisi, Georgia , you basically have our attention. OA002 features four tracks plus a remix by  The Reflektor aka Gifted & Blessed , but this is our pick - a cosmic bubblebath of undulating tones and gliding rhythm that we defy you to resist.
