Black Leather

The Man in the BLACK LEATHER Jacket stood down by Oakland Beach looking out at the sea. He was wondering what ever happened to the good times of fun rock and roll of bands like The Ramones and Cheap Trick. He remembered WHEN THESE THINGS WERE COOL and longed for them to return. The time of new exciting music seemed long gone and this made him feel ROTTEN TO THE CORE. It was then that a fast, deep fog came upon the shore making it impossible for him to see his own hands in front him. As he walked in confusion, he spied a clearing in the distance and moved towards the light. When he stepped out of the fog, he found himself IN THE SHADOW OF THE CITY he recognized as New York. More specifically, he was on W23rd Street outside the Chelsea Hotel. He was looking at the building wondering how he arrived in this place. He thought he saw Johnny Thunders staring out the window at him but the shade was quickly drawn. He shook his head to try to clear this image when suddenly the front doors swung wide open and out walked Dee Dee, Johnny and Tommy Ramone. They were walking towards the man and stopped about five feet  from him. They were having an argument about whether someone named Sheena was the ultimate PUNK ROCK GIRL. Johnny appeared frustrated and began to walk away. Dee Dee followed, continuing the heated discussion. As Tommy passed the man, he said under his breath “ALL MY FRIENDS ARE BRATS”. A sudden darkness overtook the man. He felt his head spin like his mind was caught in a raging tornado. When he awoke instead of being IN THE NIGHT, he was strapped to a table with a bright light shining into his eyes. When he was able to blink a few times to clear the dots and focus, there was a man in a filthy white lab coat examining him in both disgust and glee. He suspected that the deranged doctor going to perform horrible acts upon on him. A low, calm voice came from behind the “doctor” and said “REANIMATOR”, I have been following this guy for many years. I believe he may be the one to return my spirit to rock and roll and let it never be BROKEN. Hey Ho let's go with the transformation.” The man spied where the voice was coming from and he saw a tall man in a biker jacket and round sunglasses. He thought for sure it was Joey Ramone! The Reanimator was now holding a syringe with a 12-inch needle. He turned to Joey and asked, “Shall I proceed Mr. Ramone?” A smirk came over Joey’s face. He shook his head “yes”. The man’s life was suddenly passing in front of him. He thought of his dear Miss Elizabeth. SHE’S SUCH A THRILL! The needle entered his ear canal. It was then the man noticed that he felt no pain as if he was already dead. He then began to twitch and turn. He eventually stopped trembling and rose from the table. The Reanimator yelled “He is alive! Electric Joey is born!” An instant later, the newly born Electric Joey found himself back on Oakland Beach staring towards the sea and pondering what lay beyond it. There were worlds to be conquered with the SOUND WAVE of music he would write. He had then a vision of his bandmates and knew their names to be Electric Greg and Eee Eee. ELECTRIC JOEY IS PUNK ROCK….1,2,3,4!
