Thorsten Vollmer the former half of the Leipzig (Germany) based live improvist & producer duo "Zone Ohne Obligationen", celebrates his comeback after 3 Years silence under Alias HIMBERT with his 12" Old Banger EP in 2022!

His gear, which will from now on mainly stay in his studio, is powered by his self-built off-grid solarsystem on his self-sufficient construction site in France near to Nancy. This explains why it was so long quiet about the current family man. Anyway, now it's getting loud again!

His sound cannot be described with genres. Always shuttling between many subgenres of underground Techno and House, he is on the lookout for the right vibe. Concise percussions, repititive elements, groovy basslines and dubby soundaesthetics are the common denominator.

2016 is a new turning point year in Alejandro’s career. With a unique sounding album coming out at the end of the year in the respected english label Third Ear Recordings and a new palette of sounds and inspirations, Alejandro is slowly shifting to a more deep and complex sound. Still accesible to the club, but wider and richer in sound design.

These two new titles in the label’s catalogue carefully thread different periods in mosso’s evolution, showing the continuity of that personal sound defined by precise crafted percussions and playful melodies, appealing to the mind, body and soul.

Kander on the A side immediately sets the club pace with a rolling rhythm that serves as foundation for that classic mosso combination of riffs and counterpoints that build tension thru the song bringing it to an emotional peak before quickly stripping down back to the basics. The beat gently goes on, asking for the next ride of excitement.

Tikjda on the B side shows a similar beat, but we soon discover a completely different mood and tone. The percussions go darker, the meandering melodies become unstable and the timbres get nostalgic. A complex balance of north african drums, orchestra winds and drifting synths, build a song that proves as challenging to access as rewarding for those who give in and immerse themselves.

Our first release on Motek for 2020 and it is a big one. Having delivered two huge remixes for the label, Martin Landsky is back with three track original EP ‘Attitude’ which includes Original and Acid Mix of the title track, and b-side ‘Leipzig House’.

Attitude is perfect for finding your dance floor feet. Full of classic House orchestration from the warm keys texture, the bouncy bass line and 808 style hats. The track has added mystery within its lead line which adds contrast to the mix and is finished with the spoken vocal. The Acid Mix of Attitude is darker and brings more weight, perfect for the later hour. The sharp acid lead cuts through a production still steeped in groove and syncopation. A mix to get in your own zone and get lost too.

Leipzig House as with the original of Attitude also has strong classic Deep House sounds. An evolving and warping bass line drives the track within a spacious mix allowing the syncopating groove to have maximum impact.

Remixing on this release we firstly welcome back Morninglasses who have put their magic to Attitude. Working with the core values and genre of the original, their take has a faster feel driven by 16th note hi hats and though the addition of airy and floaty pad lines. They have also applied clever use of the vocal as a textural element.
