New friends from Belgrade - Cosmic G and Laars with a collaboration novella «Trancia», Maksim Polivanov from Motorama under the moniker Neporyadok and his «Jewel Box» and one of the most productive musicians in St. Petersburg — Rambal Cochet, also known as Volta Cab. FINA Records co-owner — Corbi, interesting duo who released their first vinyl on Gated Recordings this year — not even noticed, and the last but not the least is superb selector from Kazan, Tatarstan — Enfant.

For their 6th EP, Art Bei Ton invites the talented French DJ and producer VBK. Her six-track journey explores the borders of hypnotic and trippy techno, pushing toward the uplifting side of the genre.

Dynamic and deep, each piece is crafted to draw the listener into a layered sonic space, balancing intensity with rhythmic textures. The EP features a collaborative track with the Moroccan artist Zaatar and a remix from Tadan.

Opening the EP with some halftime ritualistic drum sounds, "Concern" sets the tone with a hypnotic groove that gradually unfolds into a dense and immersive atmosphere.
The second track dives deeper into hypnotic techno, combining bouncy rhythms and psychedelic elements into a tightly crafted dancefloor tune.

"Voices From Beyond" stands out as a driving and dynamic cut, where uplifting grooves meet trippy textures to create a powerful and forward-moving energy.
The fourth track immediately thrusts the listener into a bouncing rhythm, propelled by a heavy kick and rolling bassline—a solid dancefloor cut!

I built this track around a Jupiter-8 synth line that runs throughout, setting a dark, haunting tone. Even before adding any other instruments, I knew the track would be called “You Can’t Hide” because the melody carried such a somber, almost unsettling presence. 

As I layered in the rest of the instruments, I still felt something was missing and this is when I came up with a vocal sample in the second half of the track. I’ve always been drawn to working with vocal samples and often incorporate them into my productions. Having written songs and sung in the past, I am fascinated by the many ways the voice can be transformed and reused in music. In this track it definitely adds some extra dynamics, making “You Can’t Hide” a perfect electro track for dark dance floors.

As a DJ, music curator, collector and radio host, Istanbul’s Zozo has a unique approach to create and alter musical moods for various occasions with a distinctive yet hard to pin down sound. She gets her kicks from seeing long-forgotten and criminally under-appreciated music experience a new lease of life. Peppering mixes with a vast range of influences varying from pulsing techno to lysergic oddities and traditional sounds of her native Turkey, a Zozo gig almost always materializes as a symbiosis of forward-facing electronics, contemporary dance music and carefully picked gems from the past she grew up on.

Following the motto ‘life is hard but music is good’ from an early age, she has a seasoned character and deep understanding of the dynamics of the dance floor, with which she communicates with empathy. That has kept her busy on the weekends and she managed to bring her versatile taste to iconic dance floors as Panorama Bar, Contact Tokyo, De School, Ankali Prague, Robert Johnson or Salon des Amateurs. She is also a regular in high-rated festivals such as Berlin Atonal, Primavera Sound, Waking Life, Lente Kabinet, Flow Festival, Strange Sounds From Beyond, Dekmantel and its Selectors offshoot to name a few.

Part of the Lyon based label & dj crew Macadam Mambo and resident of Berlin institution Sameheads, Zozo nowadays operates as a resident DJ and musical advisor for Tavern Istanbul and crowning her interest in music and art with her multidisciplinary platform; AFOM INT. (A friend of mine International), that brings together like minded friends, in different fields such as music, art, design and publishing.

A romantic reimagining of Namai — the debut EP by thelastsunday — through the lens of Portland’s Bed of Roses crew. “I was instantly drawn to the Namai EP — its subtlety, drama, and overall atmosphere really resonated with me. I knew right away that I wanted to collaborate with this artist in some way, so being invited to take part in this remix project was a real honor. Getting some of the Bed of Roses crew involved didn’t take much convincing either — everyone was excited to contribute,” says Break Mode, head of Bed of Roses.

Transcend into orbit with Uritorco Times. (Probably) an ode to Argentina’s most mystical peak, UFO synthesisers flash and bleep around a wonky bassline. The result is equal parts mystic ritual and late night mischief.

Sly yet crunchy Push Comes To Shove rides a killer bassline over off kilter percussion. Sleazy mechanical funk that teeters, entranced between tension and release.

Sonic Witchcraft ensues in Junk Be Gone as the shadowy yet playful bassline twists like smoke around the acid melody summoning rhythm from strangeness.

Junk Be Gone gets the Felix Dickinson treatment for the EP’s remix delivering an extra long rework that stays respectfully true to the original in all the right ways. Live acid bass envelops the original bassline whilst ever intensifying synth solos build to an epic crescendo.

Hypnotic Black Magic is a Berlin and Lisbon-based DJ and producer, renowned for her trippy and uplifting sets that take audiences on euphoric journeys. 
She is also the head behind the well-established label and event series Art Bei Ton, shaping since 2018 her vision of the scene through hypnotic sounds, psychedelic visuals and gender-balanced line ups.

Inspired by nostalgic and avant-garde electronic sounds since her early teenage years, HBM has developed her music taste around hypnotic techno, atmospheric ambient, psychedelic sounds and IDM/tribe. Collecting tracks with a preference for loopy patterns, dreamy pads, groovy rhythms, and trancey basslines, HBM’s goal is to drive the audience through a cathartic journey - dancing through obscure thoughts, meditative states, and sensual expressions.

After immersing herself in the free party subculture at 15 years old and moving to Berlin at 18, HBM's passion for freedom and DIY ethos drove her to build a supportive community for FLINTA* and queer artists.  In 2018, she launched Art Bei Ton and Ambient Sleepers, holding space for diverse and marginalized international artists to express their creativity, and challenge the established discriminatory systems. 
Between 2020 and 2023 she co-owned a underground club in Berlin, that became a launchpad for emerging collectives to shape their identities and push sonic boundaries.

Her work has brought her to enchant dancefloors at iconic venues worldwide, including SÄULE (Berlin), Tresor (Berlin), VENT (Tokyo), Gare (Porto), Ministerium (Lisbon), Vurt. (Seoul), La Station Gare Des Mines (Paris), LAUT (Barcelona) and soon MODEM Festival in Croatia. Continuously traveling, her mesmerizing sets  have resonated in major cities such as New York, Medellin, Tbilisi, Sydney, Amsterdam, Goa, Bangkok, Beijing, Brussels, Montreal, Istanbul, and beyond.

On the production side, Hypnotic Black Magic released her EP ‘Passages’ on Art Bei ton in Feb 2025, as well as some tracks on some VAs. Stay tuned for more updates—exciting news on the horizon!
