@txconnect is a man from the landlocked Lone Star State, Texas, who takes a conscious hands on hardware based approach to electronic music. His rough yet refined productions have earned him cuts on labels such as L.I.E.S. and Dixon Avenue Basement Jams. 

In contrast to the raw analogue house he has come to be known for, this mix delves into a softer sound which encourages your mind to slow down and ease out of the frantic rhythm of day to day life; perfect for the darker times of day.

L’important dans la vie c’est de continuer de danser. This motto is written on every release of Macadam Mambo. The man behind it fully reflects this spirit of the label. Sacha Mambo calls his selections banana music and there are enough exotic flavors for sure. Late 60’s to nowadays in every kind of gender but more hippy, punk, new wave, esoteric or afro style oriented. He’ll play it, you’ll name it. An essential figure in the game, Smala homeboys add, and we have no more questions about a much-anticipated guest from Lyon.

After one month, back as motivated as never before -
with a bunch of new people waitin' to appear within the second year of AUFSCHNITT.

Number 12 (and I'm SO glad that in the end we made it) comes from Dj Marcelle, a woman I've been following for a while now. She hosts a beautiful show on Red Light Radio, Amesterdamn. 

When I asked the Dutch producer for a mix outside club territory, her initial reaction was 'That she plays anything she likes', even in clubs. Her three turntables mixes comprise of ambient records on top of Techno tracks or African singing over Leftfield electronics.

Freedom to do whatever she fancies and not bowing to audience expectations is essential for her art.
But even Marcelle plays some music only at home ; a house full of literature, colourful flea market stuff and some 20,000 vinyls.

In this mix she combines the music she grew up with and whose adventurous spirit and political stance influenced her a lot (Throbbing Gristle, The Fall, The Raincoats, Public Image Limited, The Fire Engines, Buzzcocks) but is reluctant to play live because she dislikes safe retro sets, with amongst others beautiful music from  the Sahel (Fatou Seidi Ghali), sounds from her favourite ''classical'' instrument: the cello (Sarah Neufeld), eerie ambient (Ancestral Voices, Deaf Center) and Italian avant garde (Lino Capra Vaccina). 

Anything goes with Marcelle, also in the confines of her private spheres.

This time - 2 HOURS of warm tunes from somebody who loves forward thinking music very much - thank you so much DJ Marcelle/Another Nice Mess!

Rat Life Radio 13 with TRAXX (LYL September 6th 2019)

This week we happily welcome Wosto to the Rubber Tijd series. You might know him as the other half of FALLBEIL (We had Kluentah on the show a few months back!?) and for his releases on labels like teerpappe and macadam mambo and many more. Wosto went fast and peppy with this vinyl only 140 bpm synthpop mix. 

In his own words: 
"Wosto was born in 1980 in Geseke (a small town near in „Wostfalia“) and he got no wife, no childen and no car. In the beginning of the 90ths he was a famous ice skater under the moniker RED FLAME. After an accident in 1995 and an identity crisis he started to collect records and began to work as a DJ for a fairground ride. Wosto and his gang G TOWN BEATS were discovered by the club owner Travolta Michele and they started to do DJ sets in the club KLIMBIM in Geseke. 19,994 of the 20,000 inhabitants of Geseke weren`t interested in the music of the gang and so in 2004 the boys escaped to Hamburg. In 2013 Wosto and his best friend Kluentah founded FALLBEIL. So far they released 10 vinyl records on different labels all over the world. In 2017 Wosto and the two members of NOSTAGIE ÉTERNELLE started the trio SAUERSTOFFF. Wosto is also releasing solo records and is running his own vinyl label - TEERPAPPE."
